The town sounds lovely but at 66 I am not interested in refurbishing an old house. The town is looking for younger people. i wonder how it will play out. Is there work for younger residents? Article does not mention the employment opportunities. Construction for sure!

Yeah, I'm not wealthy enough to the meet the criteria.
If I were, I wouldn't mind restoring an old home.
I'm also not their target demographic.
Like I said to @wordywalt, I can't even afford to move across the street, let alone to Italy.

With my retirement savings.... I will need to stay in the US to make sure my SS and pensions keep flowing, or at least maintain a US address. Beside, I wanna see the grands grow up, they're just too precious to miss out on anything!

@ToolGuy I'm sad cuz SamSam's parents are moving her to Bellevue, NE, about as far east as you can go and stay in Nebraska and the Omaha metro area. I live about as far west as you can go in the Metro area. She will be 27 miles away. I cannot imagine if she were further away. SamSam is my heart, my first grandchild.

The Italians and the Greeks . Don't have me start , I can type for ever . Too much love , too much " φιλότιμο ", too much " fuck that shit ", too much " ahhh does not matter will worry about tomrw ". Good people . Dysfunctional governments .
I visit both almost every yr . The Greeks don't have jobs . My high school friends , doctors for the last 20 yrs , and they moonlight at bars and restaurants to pay a mortgage . The Germans did w the banks what they weren't able to do w tanks and starvation on 1940.
The Italians are still holding , but spirits are crushed and the young ones migrate faster than ever . In the land of the pope , Italians finally have lost their religion , and some their identity . But still holding .✌🏻

I don't dare show the article to RJ - he will want us to move there tomorrow. 😉 Having done more than one "reno" .....I know for sure that you really have to have infinite patience and be very "laid back". Otherwise, you will lose your mind. I must say tho - its very, very tempting!!! 🙂 🙂 😉
