If Republicans win, they will destroy this country and turn it into a church run state.

"This is the point. These are not victims crazed by “polarization” or “partisanship” or “gridlock” but cool-headed political actors who see the chance to win long-sought goals—dictatorial power in the White House, partisan control of the federal bench, an end to legal abortion and the re-subordination of women, destruction of the government’s regulatory apparatus, an end to voting rights that might threaten minority-party control, a return to pre-civil-rights racial norms. The historical moment finds them on a mountaintop; all the kingdoms they have sought are laid out before them, and a voice says, “All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.”"

I'm also visually handicapped and disabled so it is very hard for me to type as well thanks for being criticism of yours about my typing I am very intelligent I have a 143 IQ let's just get a little history on the subject if Democrats are so great how come they always abhor racial adversity like the clintons voted against black involvement in voting Clinton voted against having blacks the right to vote an Emancipation Proclamation was a republican who freed the slaves so putting that aside how are Republicans being subjugating blacks or Mexicans or any of that Trump has done more for black people than Obama

Your repeating yourself. I can read. I responded to that earlier.

I also responded to the following, I either responded to your statement or asked you to explain the basis for the following. That does not mean repeat it verbatim without explaining.

“ if Democrats are so great how come they always abhor racial adversity like the clintons voted against black involvement in voting Clinton voted against having blacks the right to vote an Emancipation Proclamation was a republican who freed the slaves so putting that aside how are Republicans being subjugating blacks or Mexicans or any of that Trump has done more for black people than Obama”

And the same thing with Democrats the Democrats will allow the United States to be completely defenseless against incoming illegals like Muslims who happened to bring guns across the border and like in Mexico kill people for no reason minorities that think that they're being subjugated are just using that as an excuse the Democrats want to control all media which they do from CNN the CBS NBC all the media stations only their opinion matters which is not a democracy that is a socialistic party which is non-american there is no country in the world socialist stick that is functioning socialism does not work publicans don't subjugate anybody that is a delusion that you inspire there's no Republican telling me who I am going to believe in and never will I'm agnostic I'm going to stay that way if Democrats hold the house it'll just be socialism and a massive debt which is what Democrats always push is a big day at with Obama's 17.9 trillion dollars of debt he should have been locked up for treason for giving United States money to the Muslim Brotherhood which is a religious faction and a radical one at that known terrorist organization which funded Isis to begin with there wasn't for Obama Isis would have not have been

Not true. Muslims are not coming across the Southern border now. The vast majority of guns crossing the border are going south not north.

Where are you getting minorities think they are subjugated from? Or that it is just an excuse?

Democrats don’t control the media and CNN does not control CBS or other media sources. Where do you get your information from?

What are you trying to say here: “ the Democrats want to control all media which they do from CNN the CBS NBC all the media stations only their opinion matters which is not a democracy that is a socialistic party which is non-american there is no country in the world socialist stick that is functioning socialism does not work publicans don't subjugate anybody that is a delusion that you inspire there's no Republican telling me who I am going to believe in and never will (sic)”

Massive debt? Trump and Republicans have increase the deficit by 68% in two and 1/2 years. Not Democrats.

Obama gave money to the Muslim Brotherhood? No. Here are the facts: [snopes.com]

You really need to quit with conspiracy theories.

Why are you double posting? This is the second time!

It's my greatest fear, and the reason I work with democrats to defeat them

The Republican Party platform says climate change is a hoax.

They are willing to destroy the Earth in favor of fossil fuels that put carbon into the atmosphere.

while trump is in office i get credit 9k back for investing in renewable energy and hes been investing in new renewable technology maybe you should look into that.

@Drew69 if you're deriving any benefit from investing in renewables it's because #45 hasn't reversed that Obama-era rule.

@Drew69

President Obama is responsible for benefits of investing in renewables.

Democrats are control dreaks and liars ive lived in the state were Clintons rome and if your a friend that might threaten them youl have a nice short life Obama is a massive Steeler of the people's money giving billions to Africa giving billions to known terrorist organization and if a fill their lies the very day Trump's inauguration they said they had impeachment process that was even before he was president he was President elect when they made that statement so Democrats have their own illegal agendas at hand and they would rather keep the Americans unsafe in order to keep their power and keep spending the people's money

Grammar, spelling and punctuation are your friends. And, like factual information, please don’t reject them. Reject conspiracy theories. They are never correct. None of what you suggest is true. But, if you insist in maintaining that you are correct, please provide valise, verifiable references. Otherwise, it’s impossible to address what you have written.

That reply is a literal mess...

Looks like it. Now what do you prefer? Fundamental Christianity or Militant Islam.

You pays your money and makes your choice.

Or you can stop worrying about it and get on with life because whatever the outcome, it has a deeper narrative than we can know.

Life is here to be experienced, not worried about.

I prefer a secular state. What you suggest as a alternative is not even realistic in America at this time or the foreseeable future.

Burying your head in the sand, which is what you suggest, is dangerous. A sectarian state based on evangelical Christianity would be a state with far fewer freedoms to live life as you want.

@Rob1948 Good luck with that then, Rob!

@Geoffrey51 hmmmmm are you sure you belong on this site?

@Rob1948 interesting comment. Sounds like a closed shop. What are you saying?

@Geoffrey51 I’m suggesting that his apparent lack is f concern for the possibility of a sectarian (Christian or otherwise) government is unusual for someone on an Agnostic/Atheist site.

@Rob1948 I don’t think anything of the sort is being suggested

@Geoffrey51 if not, I apologize. However, you don’t seem bothered by the possibility, even suggesting I could choose between a Christian or a Muslim state.

@Rob1948 probably best we leave it there because we seem to be at cross-purposes. The question was ironic but sometimes it is difficult to convey irony unless one knows the person.

“[James McGill] Buchanan never lost sight of the fact that such rearguard assaults on the welfare state would take the movement only so far. What was needed was a way to amend the Constitution....

“Again and again, at every opportunity he [James McGill Buchanan] had, he told his allies that no “mere changing of the political guard will suffice,” that “the problems of our times require attention to the rules rather than the rulers.” And that meant that real change would come “only by Constitutional law.” The project must aim toward the practical “removal of the sacrosanct status assigned to majority rule.”"

-- Nancy MacLean, "Democracy in Chains, The Deep History of the Radical Right's Stealth Plan For America,” 2017

And, by controlling the judiciary, they move closer to their goal. However, tonight’s election news offers hope that their hose of cards is beginning to crash.

1

"Reagan hadn’t “failed,” in [James McGill] Buchanan’s summary conclusion; he had “forfeited” his chance “to change the structure of politics.”...

“These libertarians seemed to have determined that what was needed to achieve their ends was to stop being honest with the public....even if it required advancing misleading claims in order to take terrain bit by bit, in a manner that cumulatively, yet quietly, could begin to radically alter the power relations of American society.”

-- Nancy MacLean, "Democracy in Chains, The Deep History of the Radical Right's Stealth Plan For America" 2017

Jesus dude, how do you sleep at night?
This isn’t ever going to happen.

You are wrong. It can happen. We are steps closer to that reality. A win in 2020 by Trump coupled with (what now appears to be unlikely) Republicans controlling both houses of Congress coupled with conservative control of the federal judiciary (a fact now) and they will get what they want. They are, at most, one Justice away from the USOC setting the stage for over turning the concept of separation of church and state.

@Bobby9 judges can reinterpret the constitution. Barr interprets the constitution in away that would allow it. As do others. There are some, such as Justice Thomas who have commented favorably on state established religion. [google.com]

I’m entitled to my opinion and apparently it’s more educated than yours.

@Bobby9 why don’t you quit with the personal attacks bobbie. They make you irrelevant and not worth engaging.

@Bobby9 your words:
“your opinion is baseless”
“Your childish rant.”
“Can you read”
“Your ability to back up your original statement stinks worse”
“You have nothing to say that backs up your statement”
“If you had a decent education”
“Your lame response”

Now, what personal attacks did I make bobbie? I pointed out, in response to your saying “He is correct. Your opinion is baseless.” that Clarence Thomas’ statement is one example of how a Justice has supported the idea of a state religion, that my opinion was based on fact and, thusly more educated than that of the person you supported. That wasn’t directed at you and was not an insult directed at darthfaja either.

Or perhaps you feel my pointing out your making insulting remarks renders you irrelevant and not worth engaging. Sorry, no. That’s addressing your behavior, not you personally.

@Rob1948
bobbie often has an obscured view point in things and likes to talk in endless circles
This is his typical rant style

@darthfaja I noticed.

@Bobby9
Thank you for calling me brilliant.
I blush

@Bobby9
Oh man! 2 compliments in one day?!?!
bobbie you devil you
teeheehee

@Bobby9 wah! Wah! You despise Trump but you use his tactics to distract and avoid. And, you are now a hypocrite. Telling my my opinions are baseless because you claim they aren’t backed up... without evidence of your own to back up your claim or asking what evidence I have is, well, baseless.

Also, I noticed you only objected to 2 of the examples. That would appear to be an admission that the remaining 5 are on target.

As for the curse words, ... sometimes it takes a stick to wake someone up. The curse words were metaphorical sticks.

@Bobby9 thanks for the compliment by the way. I’m gonna frame it.

@Bobby9
As often as possible bobbie!
Maybe dats why you such a gwumpy wittle man

@Bobby9, @Rob1948
Rob! He keeps saying he’s going to ignore this
But he keeps coming back!
I think he really likes us!

@Bobby9
Oh bobbie.... you show off....

@darthfaja and with more insults. I’ve reported him before. Nothing was done. He still floats around... like....

@Bobby9 you could but didn’t. bobbie, you keep nattering along and are becoming an annoying background noise that we all learn to ignore. And, if you do go quiet, that will be a first.

@Bobby9 thought you were gonna be quiet bobbie. But, nope. You don’t keep your words and continue with the insults.

@Bobby9 I think this was the first personal, insulting comment between us. You made it.

“ Trump stinks, but your ability to back up YOUR post is stinks even more.”

If there is an earlier one, please point it our.

Yes, I resorted to profanity. It was used in a couple of comment to you but not directed at you. I have explained why I used them words. I’m sure you can find that explanation.

@Bobby9
Bobbie Just give it up man. This is exactly how your rants always go. Please find something else to do.

@Bobby9
That is possibly true bobbie. However, I do enjoy many of the people here. I’m sorry that you’re so angry.
I still think this should all stop.
Just back and forth bickering.

@Bobby9
I’m fine thank you. I don’t feel you’re a good moderator of “intellectual dishonesty.”
There are more important things to discuss in the world.

@Bobby9
elusive* bobbie

@Bobby9 bobbie, you don’t know what intellectual honesty or dishonesty are. All you do is batter and insult and make snide remarks challenging what has been said, asking for proof without ever contributing one valid argument, link or privatize comment.

@Bobby9 and, I explained why I responded as I did when you originally commented on that.

Dishonesty? Hardly bobbie. Dishonest is not acknowledging my earlier response and nattering away as if I never responded.

You act just like Trump with your writing style. It’s a very bad look bobbie.

@Bobby9
No, I’m not a great typist.

@Bobby9 here, I’ll change the subject. [nbcnews.com]

As for the rest, it’s only stupid because you don’t like being compare to Trump. Ask @darthfaja if you writing style is similar to Trump’s style of insults and misdirection and reflection. If he doses, I’ll apologize.

@Bobby9 more personal comments bobbie... tsk tsk. You are all so ready to toss personal comments, veiled and not so veiled insults about and to challenge what’s been said as wrong, stupid, etc. But, not once, that I can recall, have you ever brought anything substantive to the table.
