Despite what others may think this is a serious environmental problem. Everyone wants to live longer and will do anything to that end (despite the religious idea of letting a god decide when their time us up). A higher aging population with additional medical and sustenance needs only adds to the population issue. Yeah, I know I am included but I don't, won't go for any 'technological' gimmicks to prolong my life and try to be a contributor to the community.

Oh, just in time. We have overpopulation and this is exactly what we need.
And the Earth continues to heat up.

I have read about lengthening telomeres in other articles, and would be especially concerned about the risk of cancer.

So it may be, the potential 'cure' can actually be a cause for a deadly disease.
