I figure we are halfway through the pompous grandstanding process, and after the second half, aka the trial is finished, we get to deal with the pompous grandstanding of the elections. Which will do nothing to woo back the massive number of would be voters who feel completely disenfranchised by our supposed Republican Democracy, and don't participate at all.

Those are the people who matter, those are the people that are going to either keep this country from failing, or allow this country to become something different like a monarchy allied with other imperial states. We are not changing because of the people who care about pontificating.
