This is a FB link to a video of a former member of the Westboro Baptist Church talking with kids about her previous life and how she left the church which is made up mostly of her family. The interesting message is that she is no longer religious and the empathy by others is what helped her see the light. Twitter was her tool to connect to those who showed her empathy.

Support the old saying that you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. While on here I refer to religions as cults I do not say that to those that are religious in my workplace. I try to be respectful (there are limits) and generally we avoid discussions on belief systems but I do not hold back if asked. She was very honest and brave to have stepped away from her family, I hope she is able to help some of them also realize what they are doing is spiteful and horrible. That said the family will probably now ban members from using Twitter/the evil internet.

Interesting, especially the things that the children say.

Wow. This is intense and deep, heartfelt and revealing, and to me it is incredibly uplifting. As we gather with families and friends, I hope folks can appreciate the wide scope of how humans-are-being.

THANK YOU for sharing! ❤

When I was a Moron (Mormon), I was also somewhat hateful toward non-Morons. Like this former Westboro lady, I have repented of my past behavior, and am now more loving toward others. And I am much happier now. 🙂

It just goes to show that anyone can be free.

She's courageous and I admire her candor. Westbrook Baptist is a vile, hateful organization. I've seen and heard her speak and wish her nothing but the best. There are days when I wish HELL were a real place.....

@OldMetalHead Warms my heart....
