Not sure where FGM — Female genital mutilation — stands legally in the US. Anyone know? This article is about Australian law. Some still argue that MGM — male genital mutilation i.e. circumcision — is akin to this. I argue that FGM is worse but did not have my sons mutilated when asked. [globalcitizen.org]

No such thing as MGM.. and to use the word, mutilation in the same way it's used in FGM is misleading and another example of people saying that they are abused in the same way women are abused... It's called circumcision..

@ToolGuy did you point out that FGM occurs to a full grown woman who is frequently held down by force and anything available, like kitchen knife or a piece of glass, is used to cut the clitoris out of the vagina, eliminating all sexual pleasure or sensation?
And that circumcision is a medical procedure performed on a baby with sterilized medical instruments by an experienced person, and even if sensation is reduced, it's not completely eliminated...
There's no comparison at all..
@ToolGuy both are not mutilations though.. That's my point... Would you call surgery to remove an appendix a mutilation or any surgery?
