I like to know who has interest in me, but I don't like the "hovered" notifications, it should be only people who clicked onto a profile to learn things about the person of interest.

Putting on a tinfoil hat could help.

A lot of times when I click or hover it is an accident, other than that it can be very useful. If for example someone writes something about news, weather, or environment, it is often good to check where they live, at least the continent, since that deeply affects how you understand what they are saying.

People are going to view you regardless. Don't you want to be able to know?

I wouldn't worry about it. It doesn't mean much. I often "view" someone to get some sense of where they're coming from or to remind myself who they are. I'm married and not kicking anyone's tires. This is only PARTLY a dating site.

Beyond that, it's pretty easy to accidentally click on something you don't mean to; I'd guess 15 ot 20 % of the "views" I do are inadvertent to begin with.

I don't recall for sure but I think you can make your profile private if you want to. You certainly can on most sites. Of course if you're here for dating, that's inadvisable.
