The Iranians are one of the best countries at hacking important infrastructure that is hooked to the web. Unfortunately for us, we have been so involved in making rich richer that we have not spent the money to secure this infrastructure. It should be stated that the U.S. and Isreal are the main culprits in this as they put together the Stuxnet virus which took out the centrifuges for separating nuclear material at the facilities in Iran. Thus we gave them the technology to stop anything hooked to the Internet. If they want they can turn off all our power plants and make them unusable. This makes nuclear war antiquated. This has all been documented.

I’m pretty sure the power plants have implemented security measures to prevent that. Having worked in the power industry at a desk next to that group, they take it pretty seriously. This is private companies, not the government.
@BudFrank I sure hope you are right, my life depends on it. Even a shortage that lasted a week would be serious. We will eventually run out of Gas and the ability to supply it everywhere.
