My friend came over on Sunday again, the one who shows up unannounced and always prays kneeling down for about ten minutes at the end of every visit. I asked her about her new boyfriend and she spent around an hour talking about him. I don't recall a single positive thing about him. Mostly it was about the evil spirits that attack him and his children regularly.

Her two girls played with my daughter. Her youngest, who's older and bigger than my daughter, got a little rambunctious. It was a problem in the past when my daughter was little but she wasn't complaining then so I didn't notice until my friend pointed it out. I responded with something about how everyone has their rough spots that need to be ironed out, trying to brush it off since she wasn't causing any real issue. However, apparently my friend felt defensive and immediately launched into talking about how this daughter picks up on the evil spirits in the places they go and they affect her. So it's the evil spirits in my house causing her daughter to play rough with my daughter?

By the time she left, my daughter was acting very naughty, more so than I've seen her in a while. Maybe she was overtired from all the physical play? Or maybe it was just the spirits? Either way, I don't think I'll invite my friend in the next time she drops by.

You used the word, "friend."

Valid point.

Get rid of these sick people! Life is dismal enough without them. You don't get points for befriending someone who is willfully deranged.

Hmmm, but there are points available? Please elaborate.

@UpsideDownAgain don't twist my words. There are no "points".

@BitFlipper Ah, it sounds like you took my joke a little too seriously. I didn't mean to twist your words, at least not in a bad way. No hard feelings, I hope.

Great she is setting her child up for failure before she even makes it to school. She has put demons in her head thst do not exist. Now for every failure she has she can just put her hands up in the air and blame it on them. It sounds like she is being trained to LOOK for them where ever she goes. With this type of indoctrination she will definately find them even though they are not there. Theist literally CREATE their own demons. It saddens me to hear about this child abuse. What is even sicker is that the government will support your friends beliefs no matter how much psychological harm it causes. The little girl could end up with many mental issues as she grows up.

You daughter may have simply picked up on the lack of control of the mother and the other little girl. If evil spirits are causing the behavioral issues then how could one stop them, and why disipline the child? So just let them be is the attitude. It is really sad.

I personally would not allow my child contact with them. A healthy child does not need to worry about evil spirits that do not exist.

This is not a "friend". It's a toxic person.

I trust you don't seriously think it's evil spirits, right?

No, I'm certain it's the imps. Or maybe the trolls, though they tend to prefer the outdoors so probably the imps. I've had so much trouble with imps lately.

I would protect my carpets and floors from KNEELING PReYERS.....the children were in no danger from anything but the insane religionist.....she has pissed upon your family with this spirit shit....terminate the friendship saying her seances with her impotent alleged gawd are a bad influence on any child ....yours or hers

Awkward one. Clearly a behavioural problem, which the daughter may well be playing on, because the ‘spirits’, endorsed by her mother, give her permission to transfer her behaviour to imaginary objects.

Depending how old the children are it may be advantageous to discuss the matter with your daughter, to try to normalise their relationship.

Talk of ‘spirits’, good or ill, is not a useful strategy around disturbed children, because the mother may be scapegoating the ‘spirits’ to account for her child’s disruptive behaviour,

Whenever the children were acting in a way my friend thought indicated evil spirits, she would call her girls over to "disconnect." She'd whisper to "disconnect" or "It's time to disconnect from the evil spirits. This happened at least a half a dozen times while she was there. I can't imagine being told you're being possessed by evil spirits constantly by your mother.

@UpsideDownAgain That’s appalling behaviour. Mental child abuse I would suggest. I pity those children when they hit puberty. 😔
