I would like to share with you the following letter which wrote to my wife today. I genuinely meant every word.:

My dearest Pat:

You have no idea how much I appreciate, even treasure, the fact that we have reached a point in our marriage in which we truly appreciate each other, feel warm comfort in the company of each other. Of course, as in any relationship, we sometimes get on each other’s nerves and irritate each other. That is inevitable. But, the overall aura of warm and loving comfort makes my life in my last years so warm and worth the pains of aging. I hope that it does the same for you.

That it something that I always wanted in a marriage. But, unfortunately, it was something that I could never achieve in my first marriage. It is impossible in a situation when one never expresses any warmth or appreciation for you and your actions and attacks you as a person on an almost daily basis. I always wanted to be as loving and appreciative to her as I could, but there is little left to give when your emotional energy is spent in defending the core of your being.

I genuinely love you and am so happy that you are sharing your life with me.
Your deeply appreciative husband,

Walt

I think it's an honest, open letter. Did she receive it well?

Oh, yes.

@wordywalt You've done well then.

Dear wife, i compare you to my loser ex, and it really makes me warm

You have no understanding of what I was trying to say or why.

@wordywalt she might not either

@MarkiusMahamius My wife lover the letter and but it in her personal cache to keep for memories. As to what my ex would think of it, I do not give a damn. We have not had any contact in 25 years, and I am happy with that, as her capacity for senseless conflict was endless. Any more false observations?

(Singing softly---someone's gonna' have sexxxx, someone's gonna' have sexxxx.)

Seriously, that's beautiful!

Thanks.
