I couldnt sit through the verbage about virtue, empowerment, elevation, and "powerful statements", but i really disagree with the starting premise- its just about lifting people out of poverty. I don't have the stats, but its a not huge portion of homeless people who are simply battling poverty. Absolutely no reason not to help those people- if you can actually solve a problem by throwing money at it, combined with self selecting for those who are capable of obtaining a living wage job, please do. But to act like thats a viable way of helping homelessness (or the huge numbers of people who are just as impovrished but have a place to sleep) is BS
