At our city’s Reframe Film Festival this past weekend, there were at least 4 movies that I saw all identifying the problem with the Neoliberal form of economics under which we have been ruled since the mid 70s although the ideas were there before then. Each movie was sponsored by one or more groups and I was the speaker for The local chapter of the Council of Canadians for one called There Is Something in the Water. It was about Indigenous and African Nova Scotian women fighting to protect their communities, land and futures.

I am wondering what you think about the values I attributed in my talk to the Neoliberal form of Economics that replaced the earlier quasi-social democratic system?

What I said was the Neoliberalism believes: Money Trumps Life, Profit Trumps people and Corporations Trump democracy, community and public interest.

We can have real democracy or we can have rule by corporations and the rich. We can't have both..
