My daughter (who I love more than life itself), is a born again, fundamentalist, creationist, Pentecostal Christian.
I have no idea how in the world it happened.

I was born into a family where my mother worked hard to indoctrinate me and my three sisters into Christian fundamentalism. I thought my way out of it by my early thirties, shortly before I got married and started having kids. I always simply told my children the truth about things. I was married twice and divorced twice. Both wives are practicing Christians. None of my children are: ages 30, 22 and 16; boy, boy, girl. Look. If your kids grow up to be Bible thumpers, it's not the worst thing that could happen to them. People need meaning and purpose in their lives. One of the flaws with atheism is that it offers no such purpose to life once it kills religion. So you must go beyond simply denying organized religion. You must discover a purposeful path to follow in life and offer it to your children. Otherwise, the odds are they will revert to some kind of religion.
