I will block someone who is being Trump bashing or political in any way this is a site for discussing our non belief, not a soapbox for the "Sheeple" that want to make a political statement and use ad hominem rhetoric to try to impress. They are no more enjoyed as the religious folks that try to proselythize you in a cherry picked biblical rant. the spelling may not be correct in this statement but if you attack me for syntax and spelling you don't have much ground to stand on the gist of what I'm saying is clear

..going back, I’m pretty sure three years here, I so wanted to see this place survive and prosper that I’d not consider blocking anyone. And honestly, had far more knock-down drag-out online fights with crazy religionists in another realm that this felt mild in comparison

What I found extremely off-putting were the serial posters - those posting for points - not discussion or relevance. If I were to suggest this place to someone, only for them to find 8 to 10 worthless posts in a row … I doubt they’d wade through them..

So, I complained, was Blocked by the offender, no longer saw his ..stuff, then decided to block a couple others myself. It’s worked, great! But best of all - the site’s so well populated now - everyone can block anyone - and there’ll still be plenty with which to have an intelligent conversation.

I’ve never blocked anyone due to their political views … as much as I disagree with some, I value their honest opinions and participation.

I revisit my " blocks" now & then. If you block a lot it will effect how many posts you can read.

I've blocked the leaders of the "Watchers" group. And one guy that did nothing but post softcore porn and whine that he couldn't post more and post more explicit things.

Iv blocked a quite a few. Some people have big opinions and just want to argue. It makes it hard to have decent conversations. Some people just aim to troll and make it impossible to have a nice space. I don't find it neccessary to burden myself mentally with that.

Some won’t drop it, whatever it is. You disagree, so what. Blocking brings peace of mind.

I've noticed one strange consequence. When anyone I've blocked comments on a post I'm following, that post becomes invisible.

Ive never blocked anyone. Granted ive never been harrassed or stalked, but i get the feeling most of the people who block, just want a more curated/pedigreed site... i guess i like seeing the good bad and ugly.

I don't seem to have an ongoing problem like others (it seems to happen mostly to the female members). Have found that simply ignoring others makes them go away. I did have to report one member for 21 messages of anger (I dared mentioned I didn't like libertarians). Also went away.

trump supporters, male bashing, female bashing, homophobia, and gun nuts will get an automatic block from me. It is instant and permanent.

Blocked only a few.. for being down right rude and disrespectful about something I said that wasn't even directed towards them.. Name calling is not needed on here so I kicked them to the curb.

Only one, personal attacks on a comment and private message with MORE BS.
The other one I had trouble with ended by just unfollowing him. Since he is in some same groups I do not respond to any of his comments.
It is a good tool when needed.
