Why does it seem to be that all humanists(at least on Facebook) are anti-gun? Is it a desire for a utopian world?

Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.Most are from privileged backgrounds, where they know nothing of firearms, and are accustomed to the "nice" police, and the "nice" military protecting them. Most do not come from the ranks of the working class, or the poor, who know that poor and working people need every gun they can get their hands on, to protect themselves from the "not nice" Rich people, police, and military. Their Libertine fantasies are the product of their bourgeois, and petit-bourgeois class backgrounds.

And there is the problem. Labels don't do a thing for a conversation. They do not describe
anything.
So, I would say about half of the people here are gun owners. And the gun owners here are mostly anti-assault guns and giant magazines.
Is stopping idiots from getting assault weapons meant for the military a "utopian world"?
Is stopping nutballs from killing kids a worthless effort?

Utopian sounds like an extreme. The gun carnage in the US is another extreme. Sane people demand a return to a calmer, less violent country. One with reasoned based laws.

I'm not anti-gun. I am against assault weapons... weapons of war. If you need a 30 round clip and the ability to fire 30 rounds in 10 seconds to kill a deer.... then you are a sissy. Stop calling assault weapons guns.

Let em keep their shotguns with five rounds and their revolvers or auto pistols with ten rounds.
I see no reason for the 30 round mags and the large capacity mags for the pistols.
If they need 30 rounds to shoot one deer, the rest of the deer are probably laughing...
Not all think they need one without extensive training the vets are a exception we have training and judgement

Three days in training. First day; Familiarize with the weapon and safety procedures. Learn how to clean the weapon. Shoot range procedures. Second day; Dry fire. Go through the drills without any ammo on a dummy 16. Test for live fire day. Third day; live fire, testing and measuring skills.

@bobwjr No good with any rifle. Only handguns. Rifles are too much for me. I never got to fire live auto.

No...it’s merely that they are more logical in their thinking. They realise that more guns means more deaths from shootings!

It's certainly not coming from a standpoint of practicality so it must be a desire for a utopia.

Explain why an eighteen year old should be able to buy a AR 15? It took three days training before I could touch one in the military.
@PondartIncbendog I don't think an 18 year old should be able to have an AR.
I don't think people should be allowed to buy guns until the frontal cortex is fully formed which happens around age 25.
