Check out FFRF (Freedom from Religion Foundation).
They have a yearly national meeting that looks like fun. I haven't been but I get the info each year.

google humanists in your area. Good groups here in Dallas area.

Pull up your own information . On the lower right hand corner is a list of Agnostic.com folks who live near you . Create a meet up . Don't chose a date near a major holiday . Suggest a convenient , fun place to meet , set a date and time , and advertise like crazy .

Great advice! I am planning on starting one in the next six months!

Facebook groups usually have a local meet up or two. You can many times make a long distance friend or two here.

I just joined one-google Meetup.com and google agnostic/atheist.

I found a group on MeetUp.

After login, choose "Explore" menu (just right of center at the top)
Then choose "Groups" ("Calender" is probably the default)
Type-in 'atheist' in the search window -- see what might come up.
