A new Gallup poll released this month indicates that “democratic socialist” Bernie Sanders has a tough row to hoe in the 2020 presidential election, and that atheists, while still not beloved among Americans, would likely get more votes than Bernie (if they had anyone running). 60% of Americans said they would vote for an Atheist and only 47% would vote for a socialist. If you're outraged over what is happening politically now just wait until after the election. Regardless of your political views, it is imperative that trump loses this election for the sake of America's democracy.

I think people are becoming aware that there is a big difference between socialism and social democracy.
Those who are so terrified of socialist that they reject everything that has any association with it would vote republican regardless. Many others will set aside their reservations because they see that Sanders policies are very good for their lives.
