Christian sues US Postal Service over Sunday work shifts...
LANCASTER, Pa. ✈ — "A former Pennsylvania mail carrier says the U.S. Postal Service violated his rights by requiring him to work Sundays.

Gerald Groff, who says he is an evangelical Christian, filed a lawsuit Friday against the federal agency, claiming he was let go from his position after refusing to work on Sundays for religious reasons.

The federal lawsuit claims Groff worked “flexibly” to accommodate his convictions by offering to pick up holiday, evening and Saturday hours that others did not want to work.

Groff, who worked for the Postal Service for seven years, said the agency began enforcing a no-exceptions Sunday policy on him and “needlessly disciplined him,” according to a statement released by his defense Monday. The disciplinary methods included suspensions as long as two weeks."

This sounds like the same tactics that the Islamic groups used to allege discrimination on religious grounds!!!

They are hired and know the rules and regulations then they want to be exempted for religious grounds which is discriminatory against those who work and abide by workplace rules and regulations they were hired under!!!

Great . I heard chick fillet hiring . He can get a job there .

17 yr ago , I was working as charge @ Tampa General at ED . They brought me a new employee / nurse , who went through her 12 weeks orientation without any problems . Lovely attitude and good brains . She was dressed w her Muslim requirements on her head , and as long as that hair piece is tight well and does not interfere w infection control , I don’t care ✌🏻
Well . The first week that orientation was over , she was nowhere to be found on 3 different occasions and for over 3 hrs total . I had literally To walk and track her down , and I don’t have time for that shit to be honest .
My nurse explained that 3 x a day she has to face Mecca and pray , and ea pray session takes an hr .
U can imagine who lost their shit right ? 17 yrs ago I was much worse than now !😂
Not once she mentioned this b4 hiring or during orientation , and I was screaming at HR that this ain’t gonna work for me and my people . I did not win that argument .
It took HR few weeks to consult their lawyers , she was moved in opposite schedule from me , eventually they moved her to a less busy setting on a med / surg floor , and eventually got fired from violating attendance policy .
Only in America . Try that shit in Italy or Greece 😂😂😂

If Sunday is the sabboth then the preachers preaching are working on the sabboth.

@MissKathleen Actually the good ones do. There are many good ones that actually do their best to help their parishiners and the community. Beimg a Preacher can be one of the worst jobs there is. This excludes the ones in it for the money.

  1. he is probably represented by a UNION.
  2. they ask you if you can work all required HOURS! before hire.
  3. in Pennsylvania the employer doesn't need a reason to fire your ass- " Right to Work STATE"
chaplains make good money/ maybe his prayers are being ANSWERED,he can be at church 40 + hours a week !

Too bad he didn't work where I grew up, in Angwin, CA 94508, a community comprised largely of Seventh-day Adventists, where the Post Office was never open on Saturdays, but was open every Sunday. A compromise or a capitulation?
