As John Mellencamp sang in the song Jackie Brown, "What ugly truths, freedom brings". The best song about poverty ever.

Oh, there you go... just "convenient half-truths."

There are a lot of "inconvenient truths" that she is not talking about:

  1. 50 year dictatorship
  2. Failed communism
  3. Lack of individual freedom
  4. No freedom of speech - no one can criticize the government especially the Castros
  5. Very poor infrastructure
  6. Shortages of basic necessities
  7. Daily struggle for survival by families
  8. Terrible red tape on every license, permit or permission type
  9. Lack of prosperity

Above all, would she like to live in Cuba? She wants to live in America and continue the propaganda of communism, it is despicable. Pack her and send her to Cuba along with Bernie Sanders.

Anybody who loves Cuba should move to and live in Cuba and tell us later how they like it... lol

@ToolGuy
Immigration 101 - People want to move to prosperous and comfortable countries, not to shithole countries. Therefore, the prosperous countries must have laws and rules to keep the weed out.

And despite all of those economic and political issues that you mentioned, they still managed to house their homeless, feed their hungry, and educate their entire populace. All while under harsh economic embargo from the world super power. Give credit where credit is due.

@RoboGraham

Agreed. Some countries in the world, no matter how bad have done some good things. Saudi Arabia cuts off hands and beheads you if you have an extra marital affair. Therefore they say their morality is high. Do you want a good byproduct of a bad system?

I agree that we should learn from all good examples around the world. But it is just that. Just copy good examples but not borrow their governance model.

Take good food from the French, Take parliamentary affairs from the UK, take social experiments from the Nordic countries and so on. We should learn from everywhere.
