Over the last two days, two self-centered adults who were exposed to Caronavirus and advised to self-isolate, both have tested positive for caronavirus.

Instead of following the urgings of their doctor, both attended public functions. One a college function, the other their childs school event.
Their cavalier attitude is unacceptable. They put multiple people at risk with their behavior. If a child or elderly that they came in contact with should die, they should be charged with manslaughter.

. Should anyone contract caronavirus as a result of their selfish action, they need to be held responsible. As should anybody else who pursues a similar action and someone dies as a result.

We ran into these same issues in the late 1980s with the AIDS crisis. People who deliberately risk infecting others with a potentially deadly disease were prosecuted for manslaughter, reckless endangerment, etc.

True and several were charged with attempted murder as a result.

Just another form of domestic terrorism. I have heard of people with HIV having sex and exposing others as a way of venting their anger. I know there are people who drive the wrong way on highways as a form of suicide but want to take others out as well. We shouldn't forget the German airline co-pilot several years ago that took out a whole plane full of passengers because he wanted to commit suicide. Last year there was an astonishing report in the "Atlantic" about the missing Malaysian plane. The report showed another suicide mission by a pilot with personal problems. This is the world we live in today.

Fortunately they are a minority and not a majority.

Some people are unable to think in abstract terms, as would have been required in this story.

Today's non-Fox news includes stories of Rep. Matt "gas mask" Gaetz (R, Flor-i-duh) and his exposure to COVID-19, and subsrquent contact with Der Fuhrer on Air Force One. Maybe that real-world story will push people start thinking about how exposure and infection work.

I heard those reports. Gates and Collins both were exposed, knew it and still nustled up next the Trump on Air Force One.

@t1nick the story I listened to said.that Gaetz was informed while in flight and isolated himself on the plane.

@BitFlipper

Details I hadnt heard. Thanks

I don't know about that...

It's difficult to ascertain motivation. There is enough info out there already that no one can intentionally say they didn't. To willing disregard the potential health risk you may pose, just because you WANT to participate is irresponsible IMO.

We have seen too much intentionally irresponsible behavior over the last three years. Perhaps it's time to make accountability mean something again.

@t1nick so, should airlines be charged with manslaughter as well? Afterall, they know about the virus yet they continue to allow people to fly all over the world... And what about other mass transit? Buses, trains, etc..

@Cutiebeauty That is the debate they are engaged in now. This is new territory.

Elderly and people with health issues are vulnerable to the killer virus. Biden and Bernie both are elderly and vulnerable in my opinion.

Therefore, both should self quarantine immediately for the sake of American people. Bernie should do webinars and Trump should not leave the White House.

Self quarantine isn't used to prevent sickness, it's used to stop the spread of the illness.. Healthy people aren't quarantined...

Nice try but only trump was exposed

We used to have mandatory quarantine need it again for idiots like that

Do you think we could quarantine the President to Georgia (and I do not mean Georgia, U.S.A. - LOL) now that we know he has been exposed.

@t1nick we all wish

While I share the general disgust at the irresponsible actions of the people
who exposed others to COVID-19, I wonder what punishment would be
reasonably appropriate to those who ignore medical advice?
How far do we go with that?
Should they be charged with "reckless endangerment" or "attempted murder"??
What should the penalty be?
Should they have to do jail time after they've recovered?

We're staring at one slippery damned slope with this.

I hear what you are saying and proposing. If we had a justice system that worked the way it is supposed to, I'd say give the decision to a jury. It's definitely reckless endangerment.

The President is engaging in reckless endangerment by misleading the public. The job of the President is to support and uplift the public in times of peril. But outright lying and pointedly misleading the public is not the same as lifting up their spirits and offering comfort and support. The way he has technically handled the entire event could also be included as another case of reckless endangerment.

@t1nick I proposed nothing. I was simply posing questions.
I do, however, agree wholeheartedly that 45 is engaging in blatant and reckless endangerment. He should be in a cell.

This is so messed up. I totally agree with you.

@t1nick

Did you mean "unacceptable" or "unexceptional"?

Thanks. Darn autocorrect. I fixed it. Lol
