Well, the covid 19 virus has crashed the international financial system almost as of this post.There is a 2% mortality rate, if I am correct. What if a virus kicks in from the warming climate that we will have a hard time dealing with? something with like a 10% mortality rate. It is very hard on the elderly and sick, but still. The stock market is crashing and the government just closed all the public schools in my area. Along with nixing large gatherings. That kind of reaction looks like it is ramping up to me. The international financial system looks very fragile to me at the moment.

Mabey a healthy system should be able to absorb that type of thing. Those are reasonable responses to a contagious outbreak.

This could help us be ready for very real worse outbreaks that could happen with things like warming climate and resistant superbugs.

Also 2% of most of the population isn't nothing..

I certainly think so. I posted this well before it became as terrible as it is
Shelter in place order here. The financial system is going to take a pounding before it simmers down. Quite a mess
