I'm not the least bit sensitive to the realities of this virus. It is what it is. We should all be informed, act responsibly and do what's appropriate for ourselves and others.

That said, there are still people comparing this to the flu, refusing to investigate/research/learn. I happened to browse a site a don't use and it actually was ... well ... a bit shocking to see the global effects, to date. All that's needed is to scroll down headlines. It's truly a reality check.

I guess I am one of those that is comparing COVIR-19 to the flu.

Here are some quick facts:

“The global death rate for the novel coronavirus based on the latest figures is 3.4% — higher than earlier figures of about 2%.” I had originally heard 4%

“The seasonal flu kills 0.1% of those infected.”

[businessinsider.com]

“Seasonal flu kills 291,000 to 646,000 people worldwide each year.”

[medicinenet.com]

6000 deaths from COVID-19 so far.

Now, I need to find something about the infection rate. The flu is possibly more contagious?

@SeaGreenEyez I talked with a doctor's assistant today. She was telling me about a lady that was cleaning off the shelves from disinfecting soaps and lotions, etc. The assistant said she wanted to ask her if she had been using them since the beginning of flu season. You take the same precautions no matter which virus.

@SeaGreenEyez Sorry to turn this into a heated debate. I was comparing death tolls of COVID-19 and the seasonal flu. Both are viruses and are passed on by coughs, sneezes, and body fluid projectiles and can be lifted from objects like door handles, grocery carts, gas pumps, etc. You can be paranoid or just remain diligent.

The doctor's assistant wasn't making a joke. She was speaking the truth about the similarities of avoiding the flu and coronavirus.

I have read they will have a vaccine reading in about 18 months.

"The 1918 influenza pandemic (January 1918 – December 1920; colloquially known as Spanish flu) was an unusually deadly influenza pandemic, the first of the two pandemics involving H1N1 influenza virus, with the second being the swine flu in 2009."

I am fairly sure there will be more.

My boss emailed me asking for my itinerary for the next three days for his upcoming visit. I was in the middle of typing my response asking him to delay it when corporate announced they want us all working from home at least through the rest of March. They said they would revisit the subject on 4-1.

I have a BUNCH of projects to keep me busy during the down-time. I doubt my dealers will be selling much anyway. Most will probably end up closing for a few weeks anyway...

Hard to understand how the Do Nothing Democrats got so many countries to join in on this cruel hoax to hurt Drumpf

@SeaGreenEyez I'll buy most of that, except Hillary. 🙂

I don't see how people can still believe it's comparable to the flu.. Just the fact that it's spreading so rapidly around the world seems to contradict this idea...
I wash my hands frequently especially when outdoors, avoid groups of people, mass transit, and eat healthy and exercise...
I'm a little concerned but not panicking in any sense of the word...

I think we've all been living in an artificial reality for some time and the false sense of security that has enveloped us over the years has made us complacent when faced with a serious challenge. I know when younger I trusted the 'authorities' would be certain i was safe, but learned that the authorities were sometime the problem. We have a classic melt-down of the 'establishment' happening right before us and we need to find a way to stay out of the fray and find our own way to protect ourselves. The ultimate responsibility lies within us, and I'm not being patriotic, like in US ....

It's a horrifying reality..that could have been made Less impactful..
