Improvising! So i raked part of the yard today & later this evening i felt weird...scratchy throat, headache, achy. Is it the Coronavitrus or leaf allergy? Went to take my temp, the
freakin' thermometer shows "low battery" & would do nothing. Opened it up, it takes a peculiar round battery which of course i do not have, and if i am getting sick it would be Terrible to go out in the world. What to do?
Meat thermometers take about 5 minutes in your mouth, but it never reached 100 degrees, so i guess all is well. Yankee Ingenuity wins again!

Probably allergies... Achiness from the raking...

I think it’s probably the pollen. Don’t overdo it.

I may end up having to try that! I gave my thermometer to my son, who was sick and didn't have one. Trying to buy a new one for myself has not been successful in the few times I've gone out. I'm healthy, so no hurry, but good to know I might find one in the cooking aisle. (Pretty sure I don't have one in my kitchen, as my cooking skills are limited to the microwave for the most part.)

I use an infrared stud finder to take my temperature. My allergies are going crazy too so like you I had to improvise.

I have been feeling bad, not sick, for some time. At work were are doing the trim for the exterior of a home. Western red cedar and I am slightly allergic to this and other forms of cedar, since the job is doing what needs to be done I work with it and take precautions. I still breathe in some of the dust no matter what. So I have been at home for almost a week and I feel good, I thought I might be getting sick, but I now know it was the cedar. No temperature. All is well here.

Hearing aid batteries sis..

They were that same round shape but thicker and a bit bigger in diameter. Probably easier to find a new one than match the battery....

@AnneWimsey they generally carry a good variety of the disk batteries at drug stores. If not Batteries +Bulbs will have them. Just take the old one along.

Thank goodness you weren’t well done!

Leave the leaves - the pollinators are in there!
