A friend of mine on Facebook posted the following statement question. She said that there's not a woman alive who hasn't been sexually assaulted (defined as having unwelcomed physical contact of a sexual nature, or scary coercive contact of some kind). Unless she's some sort of Rapunzel, locked in a tower,
I tend to agree we ith her. Do you?

Most likely - yes.

I will add this
All people may have experienced unwanted physical attention, but far from all people are the abusers.

Amend that from women to people and it is true, perhaps more so among men under the guise of "good natured rough and tumble" especially in locker rooms/changing rooms, and overly affectionate "Aunties"

I totally agree with your statement as it stands and I also agree that while some men may also have experienced this it is nowhere near on the same scale as women. I saw earlier today that a man was complaining to a friend that he no longer enjoyed taking a walk for exercise, now that he had to constantly be aware of how close other people were to him and avoid them getting too close. She replied "Welcome to my world".

There may be some women here and there that have never been sexually assaulted if they have some sort of health condition or phobia that has held them home for most or all of their lives. But the rest of us have had the displeasure of unwanted touching or kissing going to a bar, club, restaurant, any type of school dance, using public bus or subway or trains, having a bf that couldn't take NO, to touching certain ways or certain places, as an answer, etc. etc.

I totally agree

Sadly, I suspect it’s true. My son had a scary encounter as well.

That broad a definition means it also applies to men.

Of course but I dare say, most anyone would agree not all men have experienced these actions.

@Lorajay You'd be surprised. However, not all men get concerned. Instead, they usually joke about it to their mates.

@Lorajay I disagree, many boys do not even realise this has happened to them because it was "just a bit of fun" or in more extreme cases something they have to claim to have enjoyed so as not to look like a "queer" or a "poof" when a much older woman takes advantage or as she might put it "makes a man of you"
