I often enjoy UU ideas, but this one has me struggling ..update after my walk and some reflection on it. Anything can be taken the wrong way. My friend had a very bad experience at Burning Man where he actually witnessed someone jump into the fire and cause his own death. Along the line of Catcher in the Rye didnt kill John Lennon I suppose..
I think @Geoffrey51 nailed it. As the subject 'Resiliance' would imply, fire is being used as a metaphor for life's difficulties, nothing more. Burning Man, on the other hand ... well, anything can happen at a desert bonfire party filled with enthusiastically stoned individuals.
No one is ever fireproof!!!
No one is immune to pain, depression, or hardship!!!
Only a delusional individual would tell a child she/he is fireproof!!!
A horrible analogy for any child to endure!!!
I don’t think it was meant that way. So many have low self esteem because they have not been taught resilience.
@Jolanta kids are literalists though
I am guessing they are using fire as an allegory for difficulties in n life.
