I'm growing my own vegetables. Carrots, radishes, kale and the like, in grow boxes. They're starting to sprout up.

What I did was use my plastic boxes, filled them with soil I bought at the buck store, I bought purple grow lights, I put a night lamp in-between two boxes and covered my set-up with tin-foil.

I'm really happy with it.

@Zoohome oh okay, i had not heard the term grocery box. i could get those at menards except for, you know, not leaving my house ever again.

@genessa I was curious too. Never heard that expression, but as I scrolling down all the comments, I noticed that he had replied to others with pictures. That answered our question. 🙂 I wanted to make sure you would look at it as well, since there was no response on your comment from the @dyl1983

What wattage of power do the lamps consume?

@Dyl1983 If power demand is too expensive, then this becomes a less-than-attractive option. Except, of course, as a hobby.

I wonder when your last ‘killing frost’ is, up there..? I’ve heard seed and plant starts have nearly disappeared, there will hopefully be more when I’m ready to plant in 2 or 3 weeks. Then the battle with deer & rabbits begins! ...suppose I could eat them, too 😉

That sounds Awesome. So it sounds like you are doing it inside? I live in apartment and not sure I have place for it, but may try with herbs to see how it works out.
