Spring is in the air here, as in allergies. But, not as bad as usual. I eat tons of local honey. The spring honey helps in the spring and the summer honey helps in the fall when chamisa blooms. Anyone else use this strategy?

I've heard about the theory that eating local honey can reduce pollen allergies, but it's not supported by research. The pollen bees collect for honey tends to be from brightly colored flowers, while the pollen that causes allergies is from weeds, trees, and grasses.

With that said, I do buy local honey anyway. I think it tastes better, and I like to support local agriculture and beekeepers.

I never knew the part about the seasons of the honey. But, is that on the label? On second thought, it needs to be local honey! So that person you buy it from would know! That is good to know! Thanks.
