Has Trump declared the opening of Civil War in America with the threat of unleashing the military onto the streets to restore order?
Yes, protests have turned very violent in places. But America was born in the cauldron of violent protest.
America has some inalienable rights, such as the freedom of speech and the right to assembly.
When the American government acts in a tyrannical manner, it is the duty of the public to overthrown that tyranny.
Could this also be a move for Trump to stop or alter the elections due to national emergency.
Oh no. Trump is all huff, puff, n fluff.
When he wants flattery from someone, he fluffs them, by telling them how " incredible" they are. When he wants to intimidate, or pressure someone, he Huff's n puffs like he's the Big Bad Wolf. But at heart, Trumpy is a cowardly blowhard. Most of what he threatens to do, he is prohibited by law from doing. So far as to civil war goes, he is more likely to cause his own removal, via a not so obvious coup from within. I'm sure there are many at Langley, and in the Pentagon, who are good and fed up with him by now.
I suddenly found 'Puff the magic dragon' becoming an earworm reading that! I should like to see him removed, but that is up to Americans and not me.
America held a presidential election during the civil war, so there is no legit excuse for Trump to cancel the election this Nov., despite the pandemic or the protests. I think most Americans and the military are smart enough to see that and would not stand for him doing that.
@FrankA It will and it should. Even the cops would see it for what it is...the end of even a pretense of democracy and an official dictatorship. Fuck the virus, if it comes to that even I will get out in the street and protest. I would rather risk dying from the virus than sit at home and just take it if Trump tries this.
I hope so, otherwise when the voting starts, the shooting starts...
