Hello all. Neophyte here. Very encouraged to see venues for non-believers like this one finally sprouting.

I am in the process of selling all of my worldly possessions online. As a necessary distraction, I was hoping that you would be interested in sharing with me suggestions for online games of intellectual value or at least not a ridiculous waste of time for lack of any significance whatsoever.

Very interested to hear what interests you. All suggestions welcome. Thanks for hearing me out.

Why are you selling everything? This is not a group for poverty-loving m9nastics.........

I'm selling everything because I'm dying and I'm trying to relieve my family of the subsequent burden. Thanks so much for asking.

I have about 2 years left myself......told my brother to sell the place "as is, fully furnished" so I can enjoy everything I have spent my life building. (Been here 45 years, it was literally one step above a hovel)

May I ask why you are selling all of your possessions? You must be keeping a few things, right?
The games I like to play online...

  1. Words with Friends
  2. Einstein Riddle (solo game)
  3. Mahjong (solo game)

Of course. I have reached the point in life where even having too many beautiful things is a liability. I'm trying to whittle it down to just what I need. Last week I sold the large concrete gargoyle from in front of my house for four times what I paid for it after enjoying it for several years. Thanks very much for the suggestions!

@LovinLarge That gargoyle is awesome! I would have had a hard time parting with that but congrats on the profit! I definitely need to pare down my belongings. I have more stuff than I need but I'm always thinking of what I spent on an item or if I (or my kids) might need/want it one day, blah blah blah. I really need to stop with that! But at least I have definitely cut back on buying non-necessities, so that's a small win. Best wishes on your purge!

Welcome to the asylum. Enjoy your stay.

Sorry I have nothing to suggest. I'm not a gamer.

Thanks for the welcome and for touching base just the same.

Welcome. As someone who never played video games, I have no idea.

Thank you for the welcome. Video games are not for everyone, but if there are some good ones, I would like to find them. Different strokes and all. In a former life, I did some hiking in the Lake Louise area. Hope you can make it sometime.

Welcome, fellow Coloradan. I grew up in Longmont, just down the road from you. Line in NM now.

Hi Nick. Do like Longmont. Have family in Albuquerque but they are big time religious so we are not close. I left CO and am back, probably to stay. Thanks for the welcome.

@LovinLarge

I moved out of Longmont after high school graduation in 1972. Came back for a couple of years beginning of the 80's when I returned to Boulder for my second BA. Havent been back since. Lived in Santa Fe 26 years and presently in western NM.

@t1nick It's nice that you found a state that works for you. Some people continue to move and never really find their place. I like the mild Colorado climate after 37 years in Western Canada. Thanks for touching base.
