Has anyone here started to lead a simpler life and decided to purge many of the things you have collected over a lifetime that you no longer need?

I'm downsized to my motorcycles only, no automobiles.
My parents lived during the great depression so it's difficult for me to throw anything away. I constantly repurpose items. Living like this I don't buy items unless they're a necessity and/or the item can be repurposed.
My moto I created for myself over 10 years ago,
"If you can't ride it or eat it you probably don't need it"

My problem is not my stuff, it’s my parents.

I have been downsizing since 2008 in my senior years there is not much that I need to survive or want to have in my possessions. Lesser things in our life we are better because the energy around us makes us feel freer and not so closely tied to things we have possessed over our lifetimes.

Getting rid of useless stuff, especially the kind of clutter that is daily delivered to the mailbox, would be a dream come true. I seem to be a naturally less organized person and time management is a key obstacle for me. This is especially true since I work full time, try to keep my butterfly garden outside alive, and have become involved in some groups lately in a desire to acheive political change. I have a garage full of stuff from my last move ten years ago as well as stored items fro my grandmother and father's homes after their deaths. I keep telling myself I will hold a great yard sale.

I have a house full of original art, antiques, and antique furniture ....so I turned it into a BnB so others could enjoy the collections. As a chef, I have over 1000 cookbooks in my office/living room at my little house next to the BnB. But I also have two bedrooms at the little house full of “stuff”. I see a yard sale in my future......

I constantly keep a bag/box by the door for things to give away to Goodwill, and never hesitate to fill it up. With kids, it is a constant battle to get rid of junk.

Nope, everything means something, has a story to tell and it will become very valuable for me when I make friends with Alzheimer

I quite often reflect on everything and clean out the dead wood, be it humans or things that I've accumulated

Every time I move.
