How do you watch your shows? Do you still have cable, if so why? Do you stream? Do you use an antenna or some other method?
Streaming and cable. However, TV becomes more and more just background noise.
I have cable. But I also have Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Video. I also download a lot of stuff too.
Have you ever tried a cable alternative like sling or direct tv now?
@mrveggieman187 I haven't. I'm pretty happy with my cable service and Netflix. We'll probably be getting rid of Hulu since we don't really watch it as much as Netflix. The only show I watched on Hulu was Marvel's Runaways. I can always just download that. LOL
Thanks for the responses and keep them coming. To answer my question. I refuse to sub to cable. I steam sling tv for $25 per month which includes NBA tv for my cable alternative as well as YouTube and a bunch or free apps. I also use an antenna for live sports such as NFL and Sunday baseball, basketball, hockey and nascar. I had comcast a couple of years ago and had nothing but problems from them. For me there is no reason in the world to ever purchase cable tv again. Cable and satellite tv are dying off and in about 5-10 they will cease to exist becaue everyone who wants will steam content.
I don't watch tv shows. News for 10 - 15 minutes of cnn or msnbc. Netflix every now and then for history documentaries mainly and some movies. TV is for the casual visitor. During the NFL season whatever it takes to watch my Jaguars, other 31 teams I don't care. Dont get me wrong, I am a former employee of comcast/xfinity so I used to be spoiled.
I stream and have an antenna. I live in a small rural city and the antenna is on a 40' tower, I can get over the air TV from 3 cities. I very seldon use the antenna since I hate commercial TV. I have digital TV with many options but since I am an Amazon Prime member, that's what I usually watch. Recently have been watching Rowen and Martins Laugh In, good laughs and some interesting comparisons to the same problems that we still have 50 years later.
I stream because cable charges ridiculous prices and antennas don't work in high mountains. A wonderful side effect is avoiding commercials! I no longer want stuff I don't need because of advertising. Bonus!
I use cable because I live in the country and I don't get good signal for broadcast. I haven't got into netflix yet. Sometimes I like to just mindlessly channel surf with no preconcieved thoughts on what I want to watch
Pay way too much for Cable, but can't miss the sports I love and our property is too tree-lined for Satellite.
I have Dish Network....and I DVR everything so I can fast forward through commercials. I can't stand watching live TV anymore.
Cable/Satellite TV is a total Rip off in my opinion they pretty much force you into buying 250 channels so you can get Ten channels worth watching. Netflix is plenty for me. When I want sports, I go to the Bar.
I get DirectTV and my internet access for free. The only thing I'm currently paying
for is a Hulu/HBO package, for only $27 a month. I got that just so I can watch Game of Thrones.
I still have an antenna from before that. If need be, I'll go back to that.
No TV for me. I got divorced two years ago in January, moved into an apartment and never even hooked up the free basic cable that come with my 'all bills paid' new digs. I just go down to the public library and rent free movies on DVD.
Have Comcast and On Demand. Can watch any show or movie whenever I want to. Way to go.
