Tell me your weird dreams.

I had one last night where John Travolta (Not "Saturday Night Fever" Travolta - nor "Hairspray" Travolta - more "Pulp Fiction" Travolta) brought me to get dentures.

(Yes I'm waiting to get dentures but WTH? Why would a Scientologist that I don't like be bringing me?).
Also SSDI insurance for dental rots. FYI.

Also John was very solicitous.
You should all know that.

I dreamt that I was caught in a whirlpool with Vin Diesel.

I've had weirder dreams, but they're impossible to explain.

I'll trade dreams with you! Wait whirlpool like "Gonna die whirlpool?". 😉

Never got the feeling it was that kind of whirlpool. It was just weird because though I like Vin Diesel, I like other actors much more than I do him.

@kiramea He's got a great... voice. 😉

@RavenCT I'm not saying that I would pass him up. Hell, all he needs to do with me is talk to me. I absolutely love low range voices.

@kiramea Yup. Shivers.....

Back a couple of decades ago, when I was managing LJS restaurants, I would dream that the drive thru came to my bedroom window and I was always late opening. Ugh. Nightmares, I’d never get rest.

That's terrible!

Also there's a coffee commercial like that? Are those advertisers and film makers mining our dreams?

@RavenCT time to make the donuts

I've had a number of golf dreams. In one, I'm hitting the ball onto a green angling sharply upwards from front to back, only to have it roll back down to my feet. I did this over and over. I've also had dreams where I hit drives 600 yards.

Sisyphus?

And "Yay dreams!".

@RavenCT Kind of like that, yeah 🙂

@RavenCT BTW, good question!

@MST3K Thank you - you gave me a good visual.

It is bizzare how many references to Pulp Fiction there have been in my life in the past week. Truly bizzare!

Hey sometimes It's "Wizard of Oz" other times it's "Pulp FIction". 😉

@RavenCT Is that right? IDK...this Pulp Fiction thing is even weirder than that naked dream I had this morning. 😛

I'd had surgery to remove a possible melanoma on my back and was given hydrocodone for the pain. I took a little more than I probably should have. I had a series of incredible dreams. One involved visiting a foster home that was run in a thrift store. The director was my mom. Everyone who worked there also lived there. So I walked around and there were families using the store's second hand furniture. Another dream involved my cat telling me my shortcomings. He was honest and brutal.

I don't know if my cats have ever appeared in my dreams? And now I have something to look forward to!

And a dream from drug side effects - can be whacked.

I was 32 yo when I got Chicken Pox. I had the most dramatic dreams of throwing my boss out a window. (high temp. dreams).

Sadly she's still alive damaging people.

Just this afternoon I dreamed that I was taking a nap. And...my ex-wife came 'home' and started to exercise (not exorcize) while she was smoking. That was just plain 'ole weird!! And I didn't recognize the house. Time to get up and go do something!!

That's truly weird? Hope you shook that off!

@RavenCT I did. Or at least that was the plan when I divorced her 2 years ago. I think it's time to go eat pizza and laugh about it.

@farmboy2017 Good plan!

I had a dream once that I was a hero leading a group of adventurers through a castle and channing taintem was an evil sorcerer who could summon dragons and he summoned hundreds of dragons to attack my party

Ok and now I don't feel as bad about Travolta showing up!

Also dragons are awesome! But not being attacked by them.

@RavenCT I very much dislike channing Tatum lol

@LadyAlyxandrea I have to admit if I could have picked a celebrity it would have been Benedict Cumberbatch or Tom Hiddleston. Probably Cumberbatch cause he could have made me laugh? (Impressions of Otters alone). Ok or Tom.

So why Travolta? Dang. No accounting for dream tastes!

My dreams usually mix elements of my past with my present. People mixing with people they shouldn't know. Very hard to describe.

Yes no realistic time lines in dreams?

And yes absolutely people I've known who never knew each other? Wonder what that is about?

@RavenCT there is no meaning to dreams. A doctor once described it as the brain emptying the garbage.

@lbusche Sometimes I find there is meaning to dreams - such as "I'm anxious I had an anxiety dream". Or "My parents are dead and I just brought them back in my dream".

But I agree there is a lot of nonsense as well.

I like when I remember some of them because it gives me a gauge as to what's going on in my subconscious. Sometimes! (Obviously not last night!).

1

I dream I am back working again and don't remember the name of the company or what product I'm selling.

Wow that's the "I showed up after the exam" dream of the adult world!

1

Gene Hackman stole my girlfriend. I chased him on foot then in a gold Oldsmobile and ran over a guy in a spacesuit.

Wow. That's pretty awesome?

2

lol It does beg the question if Travolta has ever been in any kind of scene regarding anything dental in nature. Or anything medical for that matter. 😛

If it had been Dustin Hoffman it would have made a lot more sense!

@RavenCT How so?

@bingst "Marathon Man" in which Max von Sydow tortures Dustin Hoffman with dental instruments.

@Bierbasstard That's the one!

I have been journalling and reflecting on my dreams lately, and they have gotten more intense--e.g. screaming matches on touchy subjects with people with whom I have fraught relationships, angry confrontations. I still dream about my ex occasionally, but it doesn't bother me anymore. The conflict dreams bum me out. My dreams are always weird and nonsensical, but I haven't had any truly bizarre ones lately.

Literally "working the problem" in your sleep. Been there.

I once had a dream that after being chased by velociraptors, I jumped into a car with Martin Lawrence and tried to run down Bill Cosby in a cornfield.

That was a fun one.

"Jurassic Park" - "Bad Boys" and then I'm at a loss.

Except I'd be ok with you doing that. Cosby's kind of a dick.

Creative.

I was fishing in a small stream only around 10 feet wide and maybe 3 feet deep at the deepest.
The creek narrowed to only 3 feet wide and maybe a foot deep. I went to jump across and Ilanded in the middle. I sunk down about 8 to 10 feet deep and my hip boots got stuck in the mud and I struggled to free myself. I was gasping for air. I couldn't free myself and thought I was dying. Then I woke up.

Yup when you're about to die in a dream you always seem to wake up.

Also - eek!

1

Dude, lay off the anchovy pizza before bed.
Btw, thanks for the tip about SSDI.
And "Pulp Fiction" Travolta was actually interesting.
😉

Allergic to fish. lol

True he was good in that.

Really good appointment helper apparently as well.

@RavenCT Hey, it could have been The Gimp. I'd say you got lucky with Vincent Vega. LOL

1

I won't tell you my weird dreams. Your dream is weird indeed. 🙂

Gert Level 7 Apr 7, 2018

I literally woke up going "Hunh?". But realized in retrospect - just plain funny.

I have one last night my ex-wife pick me up when I arrived to a small airport in Jacksonville FL, took me to a tasca restaurant we used to visit in San Juan and we walked out without paying, I asked 3 times if she wanted me to pay and she said no. No, there was no love making involved and I flied out of the small airport (exist in real life) less than 24 hours later never knowing what I was suppose to do in Jax? I reckon I don't have the Clearance to know my Top Secret Mission... but my ex-wife seemed to be satisfied chauvering me around. Well Done Woman! Even on dreams she using me as she desires. All I recalled getting out of it was a meal.

A side of John I had never considered
I have persistant dreams of going to an older decaying part of a major city and feeling wistful for the times that the beautiful buildings were built.I am always looking for a place to stay, distressed about not finding it and thinking when I do I will be able to be content in the fantasy of the better times

I have a persistent dream where I live in a house I've never ever seen.

My friend has the same dream (different house). lol We compared.

I'm sure there is an explanation - but I was never that great at Dream Psychology other than to say "Well if you are naked waiting to take a test - that is an anxiety dream". lol
