My wife is a school teacher, which makes me a widower for most of the year
That could change, the day she puts down her eraser and chalk for the last time! Lol
Tell me she's not being railroaded into a packed classroom???
Distance learning ATM, she is alone in her classroom.
My father was a career coach/teacher/administrator.
My mother wanted to cook for the family so she learned to make a lot of stuff that could be kept warm on the stove. Whenever someone -- dad or one or more of us -- happened to get home they could drift through the kitchen and pick up some dinner. Lol I guess.
Nice! That sounds so homey! Unlike drive throughs!

There were a few tweaks. Ha, ha.
It was a small town and he wangled jobs throughout the school system to avoid directly being a teacher to any of us.
He ended up as the principal/athletic director so he had to attend every sporting event including getting there first to open the facilities and leaving last to close up. Over the years I sold a lot of early tickets before event volunteers showed up for their shifts. And I well remember running around the high school outside checking all the doors to be sure no teacher accidentally left one unlocked.
But there were family things too. For instance, we spent many Saturday mornings searching through gate takes for unusual coins to add to our collection. Ha, ha -- small town passtimes.
Especially given the often summer vacations together, it was a pretty good time overall.
