The filibuster died for judicial appointments under the hand of Harry Reed when he was senate majority leader. Our only hope is for some Republican senators to refuse to vote until after the election.

It would be nice. The Repubs have been hypocritically using the fillibuster way more than the Dems in recent decades, while the Dems are usually too chickenshit to use it, which shows they are really not that much of an opposition party to the Repubs.

Sadly true. We have a tendency to eat our own (Al Franken for one) while the Republicans circle the wagons and protect even the worst of their ilk as long as they follow party leadership.

the problem here is that McConnell can force an early vote before the vetting process is completed. The president has already had a running list of candidates and I can only assume that they have all been vetted to a point. The entire process can take weeks or months.

Do you think enough democrats can filibuster for a full 24 hours?
