I just overheard my neighbors phone conversation. It's all about how if more criminals had gawd in their lives then they wouldn't be in their current situation, in jail, prison, on drugs, etc. The babble this, the babble that... This woman is in her mid-late thirties and spends a great deal of her time sitting on her porch drinking and smoking, while pregnant. Her laugh is a loud, super irritating cackle which I hear around the clock. I am not a violent person and would never hurt anyone unless it was in a self-defense situation but I can't help the urge to punch her face in repeatedly until it's flat. I can't wait to move away from the most annoying neighbor on earth.

Many years ago, I did research into the ratio of religious vs non-religious in prisons, and the statistics were something like 98% religous, 2% non-religious in the prison population, when the non-religious population of the whole of society (in USA) was something like 15-20% at the time.

So that shows that atheists/nones are not being represented in the criminal societies, so your neighbors assumption is totally off.

Perhaps a better explanation might be that 85% of all youths sitting in prisons grew up in a fatherless homes. (according to research done in 1992)

Whether religious or not, kids raised with plenty of adult role models are better off, from what I can gather.

It is written that Jesus character said:
Luke 5:32 I have not come to call the righteous(people obeying the law) , but criminals(sinners) to repentance (to return them to obeying the law)."

I find it funny that most people find God by going to jail

It earns you points with parole boards. If you can't make it fake it. LOL

Feel free to share with her any of the research on the religiosity of American inmates that shows that most if them identify as Christian and a miniscule number as non-religious.
