Yesterday was an interesting day. Started very badly but, then, Zen led to a path. I now have a mission involving my Dudeist Ordination, knowledge, connection of current events, and a platform.
As Southern Christianity seems to be the driving force behind King Donny I've decided to make that a foundation of my campaign for Joe Biden. I tell them the end has begun.
I speak with the authority of Moses but the patience of one who would scoff just as they do. My reply to their anger at being told we've begun the 7 year Anti-Christ period (3 years of 1st term and four more to go) and demons are being assembled as I speak is to chuckle with amusement. I tell them merely to research Amy Cone-head Barrett or Syanon Work Groups (cults), or Paris Hilton. These indicate the demons are active and being seated so the 1,000 year tribulation period of Satan’s (Putin) rule will begin. Leviticus will be the law. The false prophet's demonic army will police the streets and stone to death anyone who dares disobey them or speaks without male permission. Women will be covered or die. At the end of the 1,000 years of Earthly Hell we will have Judgment Day.
I tell them there is one chance to preserve God’s love for us. It lies in a humble Catholic man. It’s him vs The Anti-Christ. That’s what this election is about.
I don’t care whether they believe what I’m saying is the truth. It plants a seed of doubt. I don’t care about their soul. That’s between them and God. I do not love them and tell them so. The demons believe this is so and they will die for that belief. If the audience replies that I’m crazy my response is that I’m a Priest and, therefore, speak with God’s authority. If they scoff they are scoffing at God. A Mexican woman gave me the finger, to which I laughed and told her I would have done the same thing until Amy's appointment. I reiterate that I do not care about her. God does but I couldn't care less.
People passing as I walked the trail had no masks. I get off the trail and ask that they turn their head so as not to breath on me. When they don’t I point my walking stick, or staff, at them and demand in a stern voice that they have human decency and respect my health. God demands it. If they are women I tell them they will have to get used to obeying men should the Catholic man lose. Of course they get mad. IDC. I’m hoping to plant the concern. The moment is not important.
A couple listened and thanked me for some interesting things to think about. They were wearing masks and I thanked them for being responsible adults before imparting my thoughts.
This, I believe, is how we must take control of the narrative.
This is a much saner plan than I started out yesterday morning with. Jesus once spoke from a mountain and it worked out, until recently, so there's a precedent L I’m sure the word will get out and curious folks will pass by for me to preach at. Maybe it's time for a form of Zen Taoism that allows for an evolutionary concept of the Christian tale? I do think that evolution has triggers which inform nature of an imbalance of population. Those triggers are largely based on waste degrading habitat of a species. One can't get into all the particulars of that idea in limited time, however, so best just to go with "Time's up. God is saying so."
Life. Peace and love on this fine day, everyone.

Good idea, oh Lord.

I disliked this at first, but I see so much theistic nonsense I didn't realize you were trying to speak their language, in a good cause, but without believing their nonsense. Then I had a bit of a debate with myself about this. I still am not sure I think it's a great idea, but that's how I voted. side-points:

  • I don't speak Christian, so this particular avenue would not be open to me even if I wanted it. I also have come to realize that I don't have a full understanding of the extent to which some of the Christian Beliefs have softened the minds of friends or fellow citizens who might vote for this man to remain in office.
  • I've tried this with my Jewish friends, but I've been open about my atheism, so I wasn't going the same route (and I don't know enough about it to do that). My appeal has been to the common ground from the Never Again lessons we all had in Hebrew School. I don't think it's worked that well. The folks who empathized with me I think already were going to vote smartly.

Make no mistake, this is aimed at a zealot who, at best, might come back to Jesus. Jesus is more likely to get a vote for Joe than God is. And most people are not cut out to do this. My circumstances and knowledge make it possible so I'm kind of obligated to do it. Will it work? Nobody can know such a thing but, if it does at all, then I'm happier about doing it.
I didn't go to Hebrew School so don't know about this Never Again training. I can imagine but don't mind learning first hand if you want to school me...briefly. I follow the train of thought from the College Professor in Woody Allen's Hannah and Her Sisters. "Given the nature of man I don't think the question is how could The Holocaust happen. The question is why doesn't it happen more often?" I think it does but on much smaller scales.

@rainmanjr

"Never again" was, and perhaps still is, a constant refrain of going to synagogue in the 70s when I went. It had accompanying concepts like

  • understanding the depth of the horror from the Holocaust, through books, personal meeting of Jews who had been persecuted in the camps, and so on. Perhaps as well, by making aliyah and visiting the Holocaust Museum.
  • speaking out if you think you need to. A lesson of the Holocaust was that when we saw it coming, some were not really sure what to say or do to stop it.
  • part of the importance of Israel is that it is a different answer, as to where Jews can go to be safe from this sort of horror.

I liked your post in part because it comes from a similar recognition to my own that

  • we live in a society of primitives.
  • we are headed toward disaster.
  • even if we live with primitives, most of whom may be too irrational to convince of much, there is the possibility we can convince some of them not to vote for the suicide of the USA.
  • based on the religious nonsense we left behind, we speak some of the deeper cultural language (you more than I do, for sure) and have a sense of, maybe, some things to say that, maybe, can convince some of the primitives to adopt some different thinking, as we go through an ongoing overt attempt to take over the US government (IMO), and as we approach the day of the vote.

With that in mind, it is interesting to me to see some important differences. I won't try to get into it all, but I will say that many Jews are either agnostic or atheist, but this unfortunately does not end the discussion of whether or not they will vote for the murderous dictator who is consolidating power. Such a person is not to be underestimated and he seems to be skilled at offering value both to some Christians and Jews so that they might give more consideration to voting for him than some others might realize. In the case of Christians for example, if he can appeal to some that he is supposedly on the side of business and jobs and is supposedly righteous, and is unfairly persecuted while simply trying to go about his business, then maybe these are some of the themes you are trying to address. In the case of Jews, the bribes include:

  • presenting himself as a protector of Israel.
  • inviting Jews into his family.

These two actions, and perhaps others, undermine efforts to get some Jews to see the situation for what it is. They lead us to the grotesque spectacle of relatives of victims of the holocaust dishonorably considering voting for a perpetrator of more mass-killings, and someone who openly supports white supremacists.

Anyway, I decided to speak up for various reasons and I don't think it's the reason, but I suspect if we went back to my 70s hebrew school and asked our Rabbis, if you saw this coming, again, would you consider not-speaking-out as an option, and I don't think they would. And if you lay it out that the mass killings may not this time be grouped against Jews, but some other scapegoats (such as Mexicans) then I doubt you'd get a different answer, though I could be wrong. And I know people now in the Tribe of Israel, believers or otherwise, who will vote against the horror that is consolidating power at our doorstep, even if the next victims may not be groups of Jews, but I also know at least one family member who is simply not getting this. So, it may be futile, but I thought I would try my longshot approach.

word salad. Don't need any religion to tell me how to live.

You seem to have missed the point. That's okay if you're voting for Joe. If not, then you should be aware that all signs point to Putin being Satan and 45 being The Dark Prince's false prophet (Anti-Christ).

@rainmanjr
So your really a theist, and you believe in superstitious stuff.

1

a fourth option "you are full of crap" is needed

I believe that's covered by option #3.

@rainmanjr not really, one is basically you're crazy, my proposal is you may not be cuckoo but still talking loads of bullshit, nuances matter.

@Mofo1953 Disagreement for the sake of disagreement seems to be fashionable. Whatever, dude.

@rainmanjr i don't do fashion, but always express my views, like them or not, if you want drones who always accept what you post and say what you like, join the MAGAs.

2

I happen to think that's an excellent strategy. Just have a good back story about a far away parish that you're from in case you happen across any actual Catholics. It needs to be believable & you need to know enough about Catholicism to pull it off. 🙂

Thank you. I don't use verse for verse specifics, which I can't do, or memory tricks. I refer to the book and my general knowledge should suffice for that discussion. If not then maybe I'll learn something and become stronger at arguing it. Satan is the boss, Thy's Henchman is a false-prophet called Anti-Christ, and the AC walks for 7 years before the Tribulation Period of 1,000 years begins. That's all I really need to argue.

I only need then point to the demons and demonstrate, with a simple point or two, that they are real beings who are scary. Tie them to 45 and it leads one to the conclusion that he is a likely candidate for AC.

Why now? Because God's Kingdom, u$A, had become evil over the last 70 years. The sin of ego has made us weak and easily separated. Especially over the last 40 of those years. As Jackson Browne sings, "People have the envy and they've got it bad." Earth is suffering so the time was right for Satan to round up the troops. It can be stopped, Satan isn't in control yet, but people must choose between God's love or Golden Calf.

And there you go.

@rainmanjr Sounds good to me. 🙂

Time for a White Russian!

They are in fashion.

@rainmanjr

Welcome Dude. Go forth and spread the good news of Dudeism...

• Kaitlyn, A Dudette In training ☺

Christian Dudeism. A new concept. Those who seem to find me interesting will get a business card. I'm free for weddings, funerals, counselling, and bar-b-que blessings. Feed me, entertain me, and pay me less than a real Priest. I tell better jokes, as well.

3

Was I supposed to take this literally? I must be off in left field and not know it?

4

I think you need to lie down and take a pill.

...and let this ‘nature’ that stepped ‘out of the box‘ wilt?

@Freedompath Thanks. I've been through Deming but it was very late at night. Artists like creativity and it's worked for you. 🙂 You'll be my inspiration.

@rainmanjr ...don’t get to tight! Some days I can’t even ‘follow!’

2

I loved it! Wish I had the guts to do and say all that! You go ‘rainmanjr,’ we need more originality, working the mobs!

3

Do it!!!
Thats how stuff gets started, your just as authentic as the rest!

Best of luck on your recovery. Don't be afraid to call on me if some conversation is needed. It's not always easy thinking outside the box but this involves a very public image for something I don't believe. Those who do ask are curious so open to thought. I answer rationally, factually, and with good nature (instead of the expected crazy thing) and maybe it begins to change this zeal for God. I'll take Jesus if that's as far as I can get.

@rainmanjr bwahahaha! Perhaps someday Ill be enlightened!

I wrote a great reply to your comment about men being afraid of pregnancy but I don't think it posted. Not a group member but wasn't thinking about that. I'm going to try reproducing it because I have nothing but time and was pissed that it's gone.
I'll admit that I am afraid of pregnancy. I can't speak to fatherhood because I don't like kids (over a long period of time. Say four hours) so it's better for all parties that I never caused the condition. I can speak to being a man, however, because I sometimes play one and have friends. It seems to me that humans are naturally inclined to be positive for big moments of life which are scary leaps to take. Men are very "of the moment" because hunting and defending require flexibility of reaction. We're good at noticing changes and trying to use them. We don't like the restrictions of a child, or home, until the moment is a reality. We instinctively know our relationship will be in great trouble if we're not happy about the news so we are. We then become very positive about the event over time and the actual birth amazes us (mostly because we can't do it and it makes us sick). We stay that way until the new human is about five. Then we work longer hours.

@rainmanjr Ya, I keep joining new groups for that reason! I think social distance requirements are pushing a lot more people online.

@Desertcactus Absolutely.

couldn't get through the first paragraph........sorry

Try later when you are in a different mood! It is really gutsy! At least it was to me! Lol

You need to posts these theories outside of an Atheist website. Take this to the religious community.

You seem to have missed the part about this being strategy for reaching a voter segment Democrats can't reach. The "Christians" who might be concerned. There are many, I'm sure, who will say one thing to everyone and vote differently. Those are the one's we need to scare.

@rainmanjr "You need to posts these theories outside of an Atheist website. Take this to the religious community." My point exactly
Xtians aren't here. Take this to them.

@barjoe This is the first such theory I've ever posted so I don't get what you mean by "these theories" but this isn't an Atheist website. The name is Agnostic.com, the operating work being Agnostic, which includes theories about a Deity's existence. It means we can't say it's not true but tend to not believe it. My theory, put that way, actually means this is the perfect place for it.

@rainmanjr "Atheist friendly website" That doesn't mean it's a "religion friendly website" it certainly gives me the right to be Gnostic and Antitheist and espouse those thoughts. If I were trying to influence the religious community I wouldn't choose this "agnostic" website to reach theists. Take it to Facebook, that's where the religious morons dwell.

@barjoe You've made your opinion but I find it non-sensical. Agnosticism is about religion. There is no way to remove what it's about from this website. Please do not reply to me, I will not answer such nonsense but felt obliged to tell you.

@barjoe And don't EVER portend to tell me what to do. I'll tell YOU where to go.

@rainmanjr EVER? Where should I go?
