I found this; and it's my first post today. Most of.you know I'm a Tesla owner since 2013...and this man's wisdom and humor is a part of it;
I have pondered Musk's motives, but evidence is Spartan. There's no doubt of his wealth, and it must change a person, as money is power and power corrupts. On the other hand, the purpose statement of Tesla is to increase the rate of humanity eliminating fossil fuel as the primary source of energy; thereby, minimizing climate change. His employees are either dedicated to that purpose, or Ok with working for it.
Thus, Elon encouraging his employees his staff to work hard to meet an end of quarter goal has two effects. His pay may increase, and the environment may benefit. The observer article focused on aparent greed, only.
The other article about not vaccinating for covid shows an odd side of him, but anti-vaxers are common. I don't agree with them.
@EdEarl My point was not that he didn't benefit the community in some way but that a balanced perception would include a cost-benefit analysis, which is beyond the scope of my interest in Musk.
@EdEarl Sorry, I also meant to say that I think you make some good points.
@LovinLarge That analysis is beyond my ability, but I hope he will do more good than bad. ATM I am a cheerleader, and we have a Tesla, which must be experienced to understand, because a car is not always just a car. It is the only car I ever named; LOL before, "Only weird people name cars."
I concur with both @LovinLarge and @EdEarl....Musk seems too genuine, too real, too down to earth to be called "greedy and selfish"
Remember he did something rare for a CEO of a growing company; he shared - in 2014 and still today - all of his patents. His goal is more Electric vehicles on the planet; not just profit.
Even the wording is awkwardly immature; he was (perhaps still is) an electronic "gamer" and this word-style (often oriental translated to English) was popular in a computer game out then;
All Our Patent Are Belong To You
Elon Musk, CEO June 12, 2014
@Robecology I just want to be clear in case I came off overly-critical. I have skimmed both pro and con articles on Musk but I do not know enough about him to take an informed position. I just advocate for a balanced position as I try to do with all things. In defence of you and @EdEarl, I have never owned or even driven or perhaps even seen a Tesla. I identify cars by color!
Then #1. Click here [tesla.com] and get to know the car....it's the future...here now.
And when you're ready to order; copy and paste this; [ts.la]. it's a discount code.
#2. I learned from the video myself. He's such a unique down-to-earth human; Here's more of him if you can stand it..
@Robecology Thank you for the resources, my friend. It's rather nice to see someone so excited about something. And thanks for accepting my comments in the spirit they were intended. It says a lot about you.
