Another cowardly conservstive disparages multiculturalism. But does he do it in the open forum where we debate. Hell no, he hides in the conservative atheists group where everybody who isnt brain dead is blocked. Got to admire those conservatives.....NOT.

I’m seriously considering declaring non-partisanship. Too much cult like behaviour lately. Including the left which I used to adore.

@Thirst2learn didn't say much, but he did provide a link to an article from May of 2019 ("The Poisonous Religion of the Ruling Class" ) in a journal I'd never heard of (The American Mind) by an author I did not know (Dan McCarthy), and so I read it.

And while I found little I could agree with in McCarthy's doom and gloom fulminations, I reckon it's better to hear counterarguments from time to time in order to reexamine and refine, as needed, my own point of view. As Mark Twain once said, "Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect."

Thanks but no thanks.

@LovinLarge Of course they're biased--that was evident from the start--but I hadn't ever read anything by them before, and was curious as to the basis for their arguments.

@Thirst2learn You impugn your own credibility every time you lie.

@LovinLarge @Thirst2learn Can we tone it down a bit? Maybe be a little more civil? Pleez?

@p-nullifidian Only one of us is lying.

@Thirst2learn No evidence of any murder there.

@Thirst2learn That's not what it says and there's no video at all.

@LovinLarge @Thirst2learn How does one 'leave the conversation' on this thing, anyway? 😉

@Thirst2learn You've made a factual claim. The onus is on you to produce the supporting evidence.

@Thirst2learn You are a liar.

@Thirst2learn If you guys will lie to overturn the will of the American people, you will lie about anything.

This does seem like a case of cherry picking an incident and claiming it represents all incidents. An exception doesn't make a rule. Can't generalize across the board given one incident.

Its a common tool of conservatives. Find a data point that supports their bias, then extrapolate it across the board for all incidents.

Contrary to scientific and logical thinking. You don't go out and find isolated examples to support your premise. Rather you look at the entirity of the data and it tells you what is the rule.

@Thirst2learn

Did you ever bother to ask the question, "Why?". What brought them to that point? What events and actions brought them to the point that they made the decision to step over the line?

Actions do not exist in a vacuum, they are precipitated by previous actions. Some people feed on the adrenaline and chaos and need little reasoning beyond that. But once again they are the exceptions and not the rule.

This last year's unrest is deep seated in many decades of inequity. Its just that a confluence of overlapping events brought it to the surface at this time.

@Thirst2learn You've been making unsupported factual claims since the day you arrived here. You haven't the faintest idea what evidence is so it is no wonder you have zero credibility. All you are is mouth.

@t1nick Agreed. As Martin Luther King said, decades ago, "A riot does not develop out of thin air."
In my younger days I was oblivious to the inequities and suffering ... still am, really; but I'm listening more now than I ever did. I found this video, made by a Christian alt rocker of all things, illustrative.

@Thirst2learn There never was any video of a guy getting murdered, that's why you can't produce it. Other than the cons, the membership on this website are not generally stupid. Your time would be better-spent learning how facts are established and the significance of evidence rather than just digging your unproven hole deeper.

@Thirst2learn

You are wrong. Courts look at mitigating factors all the time. Its typical of conservatives like yourself to never ask"why" something happens. Just want to knee jerk react without analyzing.

Its why white privilege and institutional racism is such a problem in this country. If you ever stopped to ask the question, "why" it would suddenly become clear that you are the problem and the reason.

@Thirst2learn You made a factual claim. You failed to support it with evidence. If it was true, there is evidence to support it and the onus is on you to produce it. After failing to produce evidence, nothing you say is taken seriously. The rest of us learned this in junior high school.

@Thirst2learn No one admitted seeing a videotaped murder because there wasn't one. You are an established liar and every time you do it, I will be on you like white on rice.

@Thirst2learn

I do appreciate that you had the courage to come out of the conservative atheist closet. I disagree with your conclusions. I grew up in a world like yours, and even worked in the patch in your neck of the woods. But I improved my education and moved beyond the poorly informed and staunchly stagnated thinkers of the conservative movement.

@Thirst2learn

Look at the bigger picture and not just one incident. Of coarse murder is not justified, but it is symptomatic of a bigger issue. Don't get stuck on one exceptional incident. Not everybody who protested or engaged in the violence agsinst the police or trumps hired thugs murdered someone. Just look at the white punk in Kenosha, he is an example of a malinformed conservative murderer.

@Thirst2learn

  1. Comrade, that is a right wing Russian Television (RT) video, funded by the Russian government. [mediabiasfactcheck.com]
  2. There is no established connection between the video and my laughing at one of your posts.
  3. There is no evidence that anyone was murdered in the video.
  4. There is no evidence as to who the people in the video are.
  5. There is no evidence as to where the scene took place.
  6. There is no evidence as to when the scene took place.
  7. There is no evidence that the President commented on that event.

Can anybody inform me as to why posts to the "Conservative Atheists" group never appear on the main "open forum" page? This is a pet peeve of mine.

BTW, there is no "Classical Liberal Atheists" group, hence I belong to the "Conservative Atheists" group.

As an avid reader of 18th century philosophers like Voltaire, Hume and my avatar, I would surely welcome such a group.

Fear that thier arguments, once aired will be challenged and rendered illogical and irrelevant.

@t1nick Thanks. The motivation does not interest me. How was it done? Is there a setting which can be changed? Is it the exclusive option of the programmer or @admin?

They tend to prefer an echo chamber only...hence parler

I feel sorry for pathetic losers like him.

I must have whoever it is blocked, I can't see the comment.

@LovinLarge I have never blocked anybody, no matter how ridiculous their posts and comments. Censorship usually produces an effect opposite to what is intended.

@PBuck0145 Some people are unworthy of my time.

@PBuck0145

I too have never blocked anybody.

I did notice that!!....misery doesn't love company!

They are a pathetic, selfish group on the wrong side of history.

@Thirst2learn I don't read RWNJ nonsense.

@Thirst2learn Prove it.
