The pandemic in my area of the USA has branched into people dying that had ailments that would kill them anyway. Religious Trumpers explain carefully that there are 4 to 5 strains of this virus and they go through it with you like a doctor. It does not matter that too many people have died of what they call flu, it is just suddenly that these other ailments are there kicking in to kill you. Nobody died of COVID-19. That is not what kills people. Trump has declared we have rounded the curve on this so we have victory over it now and it "is what it is." You can tell by the use of this phrase in my area what people secretly believe. My view is that they are nuttier than a fruitcake.
