Before it slips my mind, an up-date, courtesy of a local, trusted friendly Police Officer yesterday.
The presumed 'stolen'' 13+ sheets of Copper Roofing material from the Catholic Manse have been located at a local Scrap-metal Yard.
Weighing in at almost 1 metric tonne, they were presented for SALE, according to records kept by the Scrap-metal Dealer by none other than a well recognised and well known Church Official.
Further inquiries are continuing and Charges may well lain.
So, it seems neither local thieves nor the 'Ghost of old Ernie D. aka Hydraulic, were responsible after all.
More likely a wee bit of an Insurance Fiddle instead.

What a ''surprise''.....

Not to me it wasn't.
Did a quick calculation and with scrap copper prices at around $5.50 - $7.50 per kilo they'd have made approx. between $5,500 - $7,500 out the little Insurance scam, not including the Insurance pay-out, if it was discovered that is.

@Triphid That's why I put the word in quotes.
