The problem with equating God and religion with 'your God and your religion' (yes i know you no longer believe but paradoxically you no longer believe in 'your God and your religion'; and then all others by default) is that you are unconcious to a vast realm of religious teachings/belief systems long before Christainity and other modern religions were founded. Many early religions believed that the goddess literally gave birth to the world.
