Well that is nice to know, I've been classed by his parents, laughingly btw, as a "Corruptive Influence" on my nephew, Henry....LOL.
Whilst out at the Shopping Complex this morning doing usual Grocery shopping, etc, I met up with Henry and his parents.
As I had already bought his xmas pressies earlier, I was 'begged LOL' by his parents to keep him busy while they did their shopping for his xmas pressies.
I did and after about 15 minutes Henry says to me, " You know I'm as dry as a stone, really thirsty, can we get a milkshake please?"
How can anyone say No to such a thirsty child, so off went to the Cafe, got 2 milkshakes, found a table outside and sat down.
About 5-6 minutes later, along comes a local, well known God-botherer preaching to everyone about, you guessed it, Jeebus Chrust, Xmas and the other garbage as well.
He comes up to Henry and says to him, " Do you know Christmas means?"
Henry smiles and winks at me then answers, Yes, lots of present and Father Christmas comes at night and brings them to me."
God-botherer looks at Henry ands says, "No, Father Christmas is Jesus dressed up, he brings gifts so you can help celebrate His birthday."
7 year old Henry looks God-botherer straight in the eyes, frowns and says extremely loudly, " Get out of it, do you think I'm silly or something, Jesus is rubbish, my Uncle says so, I trust my Uncle because he always tells me the truth, you're a liar."
Then, I saw our 'audience' standing behind the God-botherer, Henry's Mum and Dad trying their very hardest to keep a straight face and muffle their laughter.
I reckon that it's score ONE for Henry, absolute ZERO for the God-botherer.
What do you think?

Keep it up, wish I had an uncle like you when I was younger.

Me too, but mine was my Great Uncle, Vic, he taught me all sorts of things especially how to make fun of religions and the religious.

2

Keep telling that boy the truth, Uncle T, he knows who to trust and also who spews horseshit. His mom and dad sound pretty cool too.

Oh they most definitely you can trust me on that one.

Smart kid.

As @KKGator has said, Henry is a smart kid.

I wish I had been there to watch!

Ditto!!

You're a great uncle, and Henry is a smart kid.

I try my utmost thank you, BUT, now Henry wants me to teach him everything I know, including ALL the truth about religion being, in his words, " complete garbage."
Blimey, here I am 67 years old and there's a 7 year old wanting to everything I've learned over all those years.
Some much to teach and pass on and so little time, where am I going to start?

@Triphid My niece tried that on me (though I was only 40 at the time). I told her that all I learned that that I know very little about the universe, but I did learn to keep looking for answers that give more questions for me to try to find answers for. It is the adult version of asking "why"

@Triphid We do what we can. That's all we can do.

@PadraicM Henry's THIRST for knowledge is more like a Ravening Hunger than a mere thirst imo.

Can't hornswoggle a smart kid.

I tend to think young Henry was born with an already activated built-in Bullshit meter.

@Triphid Glad to hear it. 5 of my grandkids are saturated with religion. the 6th one doesn't buy into it, but she's a lot like me too even down to the red hair.

@Lilac-JadeCanada Ah so, a natural 'Ginge' then, some of my best friends have been natural 'Ginges.'
Aussie definition of a 'Natural Ginge = the carpet matches the drapes....LOL

@Triphid Hahaha....but do they have the freckles?

@Lilac-JadeCanada Yep, they do actually on their faces as to elsewhere, well I can't actually testify to that.

@Triphid My redheaded granddaughter, age 26.

Why this site is turning photos is beyond me.

@Triphid I meant the matching carpet & drapes...hahahaha.....

@Lilac-JadeCanada A very attractive young lady if one is permitted to say so.

@Triphid She is. She's married with a little girl & boy too.

@Lilac-JadeCanada Ah so you've now reached the Great Grandparent level in life, lucky you.

@Triphid Yeah, our eldest granddaughter [age 28] also has 2 boys. She married a bloody pastor! She's one of my daughter's 5 kids, all soaked in the religion.

@Triphid Mrs. pastor with second baby boy.

@Lilac-JadeCanada Don't mean to be cruel, nasty, etc, but my heart goes out to those poor children.
Satured in Religious superstitions, etc, from the beginning to the end, so very ,very sad.

@Triphid It is....& Mrs. pastor there was the one that I was sure would question things....sigh.....
