Trump has been trumped by Nicola Sturgeon!
The First Minister of Scotland, Nicola Sturgeon, has issued a statement ahead of the widely rumoured belief that Donald Trump intends to fly to Scotland to his Turnberry Golf resort on the Ayrshire coast rather than attend the inauguration of Joe Biden on 20th January.
She states that it will contravene the current Coronavirus regulations against travel into Scotland that will be in place until and after that date, and he will be denied entry into the country. “We are not allowing people to come into Scotland without an essential purpose, right now. That would apply to Mr. Trump just as it applies to anybody else”. She added ...”playing golf is not what I would consider to be an essential purpose”.

I hear on the news he’s stirring up more trouble and his supporters are rallying in Washington DC at the moment.

@Marionville Yes, & my son said there are many scump supporters in his area north of us....which really shocks & is frightening too. So many in the US have stock piled weapons, & ammunition as well...I hate being on the same continent with that lot!
If he manages to get into the country through diplomatic means then she still has the power, I believe , to shut down his golf course. Are the laws about ownership of land and shutting down businesses different in USA than UK?

I don’t know...but I don’t think he’ll try to get into Scotland. I think if he does land on a private plane his flight will be directed to leave again...he won’t see the outside of the airport.
@Marionville Yes, but Boris would get worried and find a diplomatic privilege to get round it for when Boris wants to be invited to the USA. And would the Queen help Trump after his blunders in her presence?
@Mcflewster Power is devolved to Scotland in this matter as far as I know. In any case, Boris, ever the pragmatist will be looking to Biden and the new administration now ....Trump’s influence is over. The Queen is a wise woman and wouldn’t be drawn into it....hers is not a political role.
@Marionville historic day for USA but troubles still ahead . Wonder how much lockdown will go on? Lets hope that The "Freedom to whatever.. "Gets somewhat readjusted as a concept.
I take it that in his last few days, when the mad crazy, figures he has nothing to lose, and he lashes about at every target he can, that an armed invasion to seize Nicola will be his next move.
