Driving.

What is it to you?

I have always been a driver. I love the white line. If I have time, I will always pull over and check something out. Especially old graveyards - they're one of my things. I think my best thoughts when I'm driving.

But what about you? Is driving just getting from A to B, or is it an opportunity to think about stuff?

As always, thoughts and observations are welcome.

I used to race, now I drive 5,000mi / month for work.

Sometimes it's a grind, sometimes it's the thing I most want to do.

To be fair, your description seems to imply you prefer the travel and destinations over the physical interaction of man and machine and really driving as the end in itself and not a means to something else.

Driving is a physical experience. Also emotional and spiritual. I love the feel of the wheel in my hand. The handling of the car around corners and bends. The destination is almost a disappointment - it's all the stuff you experience on the way that is cool.
