No life is without pain. We don't need to court pain, but if we survive it without too much damage, if provides a great contrast. Years ago, I had severe back pain for 14 years and had back surgery. Shortly after I recovered, I encountered a friend, who asked, "How's it going, Walt?" I answered, You have no idea how great it feels just to feel normal again!"
