Walking in wilderness cures whatever ails me !

For over 15 years I walked 3 to 5 miles a day through our neighborhood and surroundings ones. It was good for me in many ways. It helped me to stay fit and helped me to control my diabetes. It also enabled me to see what was doing on in the area and get to know people in the area. I was known in the area as "the walker" and the "veggie man" ( I grow vegetables the whole year and share them with friends and neighbors). It was also time for thinking and reflection -- and provided the material for much of the things that I write.

Sounds like living the dream, well done.

@Fernapple I wish I could still do it, but pain from angina put a stop to it.

True, but it will more achievable when the days are longer.

Idea: 15 minute lunchtime walk. If lunch is short, eat something portable while you walk.

@MikeInBatonRouge it’s a nice idea, but I only get 30 minutes for lunch, I like to eat then 😊 but depending on my shift I can get one in before or after work usually now the days are getting longer. It’s too easy to grab a coffee and relax after work, but after reading this; hopefully will be more inspired.

@girlwithsmiles Some lovely places for walking round you. Nottingham, are you in the country or the city ?

@Fernapple in between really, we have some great areas kept by the local Wildlife Trust, very lucky really. Not far from Derbyshire either 😊
