The parents probably can't afford the tuition , in the face of the covid ravaged economy.

It's always about money and/or distance. If a school is cheaper than the average and it's physically close, you'll choose that school for those reasons, regardless of everything. But you can't always get both the perks. Sometimes you have to compromise and you choose the lesser evil.

Hallelujah?

Not to mention reduction in physical ailments. Do any of you know what “Catholic knees” means?

Lets hope that trend continues. Of course we all know these schools will be looking to 'our' government for relief handouts and it will be interesting to see how our 'Catholic' president reacts.

Good news

It’s an equally unprecedented drop in child abuse.

Part of the reason is also because of unaffordability. Tuiton is expensive. Back in 2010 a friend of mine had a daughter who went to Mercy High School in Riverhead, NY and tuition was $1,000 a month.

The school I attended in Brooklyn also closed down in 2009 because of declining enrollment.

Plus buying the uniforms!

Are there State-funded schools in the US? Here in Italy we have a lot of them.
The 3 schools I attended were all State-funded.
Of course, there are also private schools here, but I think they're less expensive than the American ones.

@Unicorn85 Yes same here. Italy sounds similar to here.

Good riddance!

That's a promising trend

I think this is an ongoing trend. More and more people stop enrolling their kids to religious schools, especially if there is a secular one at walking distance. Sometimes people choose a school because it's geographically the closest one. Not because of the creed (or non-creed).

10% would be better, but it's a start.

Unprecedented pants drop.

And the members of 100,000 priests suddenly stood erect!

3

Perhaps now would be a good time to start some Satanist Schools.

So sad, too bad, I'm so glad.

Boo-fucking-hoo
