Maybe we could buy the place as a haven for agnostics to meet and interact and rent out for the occasional holiday and to eat meals without repeating lines from 2000 year old ravings and take hikes without carrying flags and so forth.

Very interesting! The Catskills were an area where the urbanites could escape into a variety of fantasies and activities with relative privacy and freedom. Either individually or as a family, they could explore their lighter sides. Nudism was another popular get away in remote camps of the Catskills. Nowadays, with drones, cell phones and the constant hunger of scandal obsessed press, finding those places to unwind and explore are becoming less and less available to all but the most richest of people.

I was thinking of hippies living in a cave or forest, shunning the "soul crushing obligations" that men had to "endure" to be part of a modern society...in 1960. Lmao.
