Neither the president nor Congress has control over crude oil prices. Blame capitalism and the Futures Market. Traders speculate on buying commodities, including crude oil, in hopes of selling the product at a higher price. The refineries closing in Texas due to the freeze did not help the situation.

Jared Kushner asked the Saudies to cut production when Biden was inaugurated. Less oil means higher prices.

I’d say he is to “blame” for rising gas prices — because he’s trying to get the country on track to rely less on fossil fuels and invest more in renewables.

To me, the short-term pain of higher gas prices is absolutely a price we all should willing pay to protect the earth for generations to come. 🌿

Biden is absolutely responsible for working to end the pandemic and reinvigorate the economy. Getting the country working again will certainly raise demand and gasoline prices.

The economic collapse caused by the Trump's incompetent response to Covid reduced oil prices, at a cost of half a million Americans.
