"Since the mid-1970s, there's been an international consensus for resolving the Israel-Palestine conflict. [...] It's called a two-state settlement, and a two-state settlement is pretty straightforward, uncomplicated. Israel has to fully withdraw from the West Bank and Gaza and Jerusalem, in accordance with the fundamental principle of international law, [...] that it's inadmissible to acquire territory by war. The West Bank, Gaza and Jerusalem, having been acquired by war, it's inadmissible for Israel to keep them. They have to be returned. On the Palestinian side and also the side of the neighboring Arab states, they have to recognize Israel's right to live in peace and security with its neighbors. That was the quid pro quo: recognition of Israel, Palestinian right to self-determination in the West Bank and Gaza with its capital in Jerusalem. That's the international consensus. It's not complicated. It's also not controversial."

The first Aliyah was peaceful. It seems that Tel Aviv was a turning point as were the Zionists that were happy to use military force to get their state set up. Unfortunately Balfour and the Brits had a part to play in that, in spite of expert advice that they should not break up Palestine
So the first 20 years, (well 1881- 1903), was a peaceful settlement, Ideologies allowing battle were established next; but the next 10 became increasingly violent and from Palestine’s perspective, unlawful, it would seem to a layman like myself.
The forth Aliyah brought so many immigrants that it ended in a lot of bloodshed from those opposed to the new state, 1909 - 1929.
Although it makes perfect sense that a displaced religious group would want to relocate to their holy land, to do so by force and violence is difficult for non Zionists to understand, even Jewish ones.
Many Jews live around the world, America, England and Australia all have healthy Jewish populations and they seem to live happily in these Countries. It’s difficult to understand how anyone can perpetuate what’s happening with the Gaza strip especially. It’s an ongoing tragedy of our time that an existing population can be persecuted for so long, after having their land taken as well. But I suppose it will be like the Irish situation now as there has been generational fighting which will be very difficult to cease
@K9Kohle789 I met some Jews in Australia who were very opposed to what was happening in Israel/ Palestine and anti Zionist. Everyone has their own story, even within Cultures and Religions.
